It was the home my father grew up in, and many family gatherings, meals, and summers were spent here over the years. My grandfather helped name the historic Iron Door Saloon in downtown Groveland, and nearby Mary Laveroni Park was named after my grandmother, who was deeply loved in the community. The mature concord grapevine covering the outdoor patio was planted decades ago and remains one of the home’s most special gathering places. It is truly a pleasure to share this home with Sierra travelers looking for an authentic and meaningful mountain stay. ⸻ Comforts of the Home The home is stocked with basic cookware, pots, pans, dishes, and kitchen essentials for your stay. Guests will also find heaters, fans, extra blankets, and a white noise nature sound machine throughout the home for added comfort. The full kitchen includes a coffee maker, stove/oven/, microwave, and toaster for easy mornings before heading into Yosemite or exploring town. During warmer months, a window A/C unit in the back room helps cool the home, with additional fans provided throughout the cottage. Please note the original wood floors were milled by my grandfather many years ago. We kindly ask guests to help us preserve the character of the home during their stay. ⸻ Eco-Friendly Notes The property uses a greywater system that helps water the surrounding trees and landscape. To help protect the system, we ask guests to use only the provided laundry detergent and avoid harsh or toxic chemicals during their stay.
