The house is located just two miles outside of Julian. The house is on a hillside which has an amazing view. You can see the edge of Julian, all the way into Anza Borrego and on clear days the Salton Sea is visible from the deck. The patio is a great place to sit, sip your locally acquired adult beverage of choice and enjoy the view. Come enjoy Julian, grab a slice of apple pie and sit back and enjoy the slower side of life. The space available for rent is attached to the main house. This space is the downstairs to the main house but is completely self contained. You'll have your own private entrance, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room and a private patio that has an amazing view. The morning sunrise is something worth setting your alarm clocks for, even if it is the weekend. Though the view is facing east the sunset is worth sticking around for too. The desert view becomes alive with colors skating across the sky. We recently remodeled the entire space top to bottom. We are proud of the finished product and we ask you to keep it looking as good as it did when you arrived outside of the normal cleaning. The interior is mostly all white, with lots of nature light that comes in through the windows and sliding glass doors. The space is decorated with a mix of modern and bohemian. We made an effort to bring some of nature inside in the form of real plants so it can be enjoyed comfortably from within. The place is clean and quiet, a great place to get away and relax. Getting there: We are just over two miles from the heart of Julian. The last half mile is a gravel road and depending on how much rain and snow we have recently had can be a little bumpy . If there is snow in the forecast chains are required to get in and out of the property. if there is snow in the forecast or it has snowed recently tire chains for traction devices are highly recommended. the last 1/2 mile of road will not be plowed which makes driving more challenging. guests are welcome to park on the main neighborhood streets and walk in also. Once you are here: There is parking for two cars. Parking is on the side of the garage in the flat gravel area. There are two paths you can take to get the entrance. One is follow the lit gravel path on the backside of the garage to the sidewalk along the side of the house. Two is to walk between the garage and the main house in the breeze way, through the storm door and down the stairs to the sidewalk along the side of the house. Once you're on the sidewalk walk till you hit the private patio and the entrance is through the sliding glass doors (key in lock box) via the patio. Inside the space: Living room: Walk in through the sliding glass door into the living room area. There you find a couch smart TV (there is also a chromecast attached to stream from your device). There is no antenna, Satellite or cable at the house everything is streamed via wifi. Kitchen: The kitchen is attached to the living room area. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need for cooking. There is a countertop oven, cooktop, mini fridge, coffee maker, stainless steel sink, pots and pan, dinnerware and utensils. Salt and pepper, olive oil and coffee will be supplied. Bedroom: The bedroom has an oversized closet with shelves that is available for use. A queen sized bed sit in the middle of the room with night stands at either side. A modern chair sit in the corner of the room. Bathroom: Walking into the bathroom there is a vanity with a mirror over the sink. There is a shower, tub combo which will be stocked with shampoo, conditioner and soap. Clean towels will be in the bathroom either hung up or on the shelf. Towels and sheets are washed and disinfected with Clorox after each guest. Patio: You'll have your own private patio to be able to sit out on and enjoy the view. With very few neighbors around you'll have a almost 100% unobstructed view. FYI: You have your own central heat, A/C unit the thermostat located on the wall. We ask that you be conservative with your usage of heat and A/C by not leaving doors or windows open while either of these are running and lowering their usage while you're out. There is no smoking or parties on the premises. Over night stays are limited to the two people on the reservation. We ask if you have guests that stop by for a visit please give us a notice prior to their arrival. No pets are allowed. This space has had a complete remodel and we ask that you respect the home and environment, leaving it how you found it. Verizon and At&t have good cell coverage here but other carriers can be spotty in their coverage but a work around for this is connecting to the wifi. there is a propane bbq that is supplied we can not guarantee that the tank has propane please bring your own or be prepared to potentially having the propane tank filled. The gas station in Julian refills them. Weather: The weather here can change drastically from day to night. Come prepared for all weather variations including high winds. The main house: There are two adults and a toddler that live in the main house. More than likely won't see or hear us unless we cross paths getting in or out of our vehicles or if our assistance is needed. We keep the house pretty quiet and we travel pretty frequently. While you're here please reach out if there is anything that needs attention. As we live on the property a knock on our front door or phone call, text is fine. Come to Julian grab a slice of apple pie. Go for a hike to work it off and in the evening check out the wineries, breweries. The best modes of transportation or via your automobile. Once you're parked in or near the heart of Julian everything is within walking distance. From the house to the city center is just over two miles.
