You will find Marsam Locanda, a typical regional farmhouse, is the perfect place to escape the daily grind and relax, with the rich, verdant vistas of the classic Piedmont countryside surrounding you. Located in the historic municipality of Bene Vagienna, just down the road from the world heritage Langhe region, famous for its wines, cheeses, and truffles, it is a haven of peace and tranquillity. The space Set within the grounds is an aromatic Romanesque garden (use this if the garden is not an original artefact but has been created in the Roman style – or use this - an ancient and aromatic Roman garden - if the garden is authentic and was laid out back then) with ripening fruits, produce, and fragrant herbs. The garden is laid out in the classical and relaxing style of first and second century BCE Pompeii and Rome. Stroll along the country lane and you will find the remains of Augusta Bagiennorum, a Roman city, complete with an ampitheatre, baths, and a forum. Beds The dormitory, a spacious wooden loft recently? restored in the rustic style; has one double, and seven single beds, a large living room, an amply sized bathroom with shower, and comes with free Wi-Fi. Guest access The Locanda (INN) The Locanda opens its doors to discerning diners from Thursday to Sunday each week. The noted chef, Marco Salzotto, who prepares typical Piedmont cuisine with carefully selected local products is a master in his field. And, while dining, the lovely Alice is always on hand to guide you through the menu and the wines that compliment your choice of food throughout the evening. Every Thursday is possible to enjoy "I giovedi di pizza" (The Thursdays of Pizza) with the participation of the best pizza chefs from all over Italy. Given the high standards and notoriety of the Locanda it will come as no surprise that it is very popular, and you will be well advised to book in advance of your stay if you don’t want to miss out on the experience. Breakfast The breakfast buffet is prepared every morning and is generally available until 11 am, except on Saturday and Sundays which is served until 10 am due to the Locanda's daytime service.
