McKennan Park Cottage/Patio fireplace and hot tub.

We offer you a beautiful garden cottage setting with a guest apartment (w/ private access) in the lower level of our home. Guests have private access to hot tub, fire place and backyard garden patio until 11 pm. Walking distance to downtown. Our home is a safe space for folks from all minority and marginalized groups. We welcome guests of all races, faiths, genders, and sexual orientations. ***Note that we only accept guests with good reviews/no red flags from previous AirBnB hosts. The space This private basement apartment with separate entrance for guests is located below our home, a cozy garden bungalow just across from beautiful McKennan Park, with its tennis courts, open spaces, playground and wading pool. The apartment is spacious for two, comfortable for three, but will be cozy for 4 adults. It has one large bedroom with a queen size bed, and two large sofas (not sleeper sofas) for extra guests. Please note that this basement apartment is cool (63-65 degrees) year-round, and our house heater can’t warm it up beyond that. We do have space heaters and lots of extra quilts. But if you don’t like cool spaces, you might choose a different AirBnB location. But its real beauty is the unique "grotto” - created from our home’s original cistern, which our incredible contractor, Ryan Knutson, reclaimed and connected to our basement - a space which can be used for dining or playing games. Guest access This beautiful space is completely private with a separate entrance in the back of the of the house. Self-check in is how most folks like to arrive. The code to the door will be provided in email the day of arrival. Other things to note The apartment is equipped with a small kitchenette that includes wet bar area with tea pot, Keurig style coffee pot, microwave and small refrigerator. There is no other cooking or washer/dryer access - though there is an excellent Laundromat about a half mile away.
