Our cabin is situated in the closest residential village to Whakapapa Ski Field and the Tongariro Alpine Crossing - a famous one day trek. You’ll love the view of the mountain (on a clear day) and the ambiance of a warm log fire. Great for all those wanting to explore the beauty of the Central Plateau, skiing and snowboarding (winter season), tramping, mountain biking (all year round) or just taking a much needed break away from it all. The space MacKenzie Cabin is a cute one-bedroom cabin (sleeps 2 - 4) only 15 - 20 minutes from Whakapapa Skifield, or 40 - 50 minutes to Turoa skifield and 30 minutes to the Tongariro Crossing, the famous one day trek. The cabin has double doors and bi-fold windows that open out onto the verandah where you can sit and sip coffee while looking at Mount Ruapehu. A cosy bedroom with double bed and electric blankets. Bed-settee in the lounge. There is also an extra single mattress. Wifi available. A woodburner to keep you warm and a drying rack to dry out any wet gear. Fully equipped kitchen with microwave, gas hobs, oven, kettle, toaster and fridge/freezer. Flatscreen TV with freeview. WIFI. Nice hot shower with decent waterflow. Make this your comfy cabin while visiting Mt Ruapehu or Tongariro National Park area. Please Note: no laundry available. There is one available near the train station that can be access through Kiwicamping and Kiwicash key. Guest access Guests have access to the entire cabin.
