Description

'Edgewater' is a unique beachfront property in a superb location on Red Rocks Beach. Recently updated this quaint 3 bdm fibro beach shack is set on a sprawling half acre block. It's stunning water views are best appreciated from the large gazebo fully equipped with an outdoor TV & fireplace, pool table, speakers, dining table, couches & BBQ. The yard has a tree house and slide making it a perfect getaway for young families. It is also fully fenced -ideal for including your pooch on your getaway. The space PLEASE NOTE - THIS PROPERTY IS NOT AVAILABLE TO SCHOOLIES and a minimum 2+ night tariff applies to all stays. NB. Please note strict cancellation policy. Most smaller house trained dogs are permitted but must be pre-organised with host before booking. Guest must pick up after pets and clean paws before entering house. "Edgewater" features a quirky floor layout best suited to young families more than groups of friends due to privacy. So please check the floor plan and confirm this will work for you and your group. There are three interconnected bedrooms - meaning you walk through one bedroom to get to the next. The master bedroom can be separately accessed using external door. There are 5 beds, sleeping 7 people, furnished with comfortable bedding. The main bedroom has an ensuite shower and separate toilet. There is a fully equipped kitchen (renovated in 2018) and laundry. The laundry is co-located with a second shower and separate toilet which can be accessed directly from the deck, making it easy to shower the kids when coming back up off the beach; note however that this laundry/bathroom also acts as a thoroughfare from the bedrooms & house entrance to the living room, meaning that it is not particularly private. The open lounge/meals area features dining setting for six, a smart TV with internet connectivity, comfortable seating for your relaxation, and a reverse-cycle air conditioner for year-round comfort in the living room. Outside there is an impressive, fully covered outdoor living area with BBQ, outdoor table setting for 6, lounge suite, pool table, wood fire, large TV (internet and free-to-air connected) and ceiling fans. There are surround sound speakers to play your favourite tunes via the Sonos App on your phone. Take your meals in the gazebo and enjoy the sea breeze and fabulous water views on those beautiful Phillip Island summer afternoons and evenings. Or wind down the outdoor blinds & curl up in front of the fire with a wine during the cooler months. The huge, park-like block with its delightful water views is ideal for adults and little tackers alike, with a tree house and slide for the kids, lots of room to wander, and a hot/cold water outdoor shower to wash the sand and salt away post beach trip. There is ample parking for several vehicles, including a boat. With the Cowes boat ramp on Anderson St just 5 minutes away, this makes "Edgewater" an ideal location for fishing and boating enthusiasts. There are a number of surf & boogie boards and kids bikes (BYO bike pump & helmet) on the property that can be utilised. Bedding Configuration: "Edgewater" is configured to comfortably sleep any combination of adults and children up to a maximum of 7: Bedroom 1 [Master]: One king bed (access is via the interconnected 2nd bedroom, or via a separate door leading directly in from the deck area) Bedroom 2: One set of single bunks (accessed via either the 1st or 3rd bedrooms) Bedroom 3: One set of tri-bunks (single bed on top, double bed below… accessed via bedroom 2 or from the foyer entrance to the house) Linen is provided and included in the cleaning fee. Note: Due to CovidSafe cleaning regulations all linen is completely laundered between guests. Other things to note: No smoking inside, parties, or events. Check-in is anytime after 3PM and check out by 10AM. Self check-in with lockbox. Other features include: Internet wifi (NBN) connected, Smart TVs x3, Bluetooth connection to outdoor speakers, Books and boardgames, Nespresso compatible coffee machine, Dishwasher and microwave, Reverse-cycle air conditioning/heating x 4 (in lounge room & 3 bedrooms), also upright fans in the bedrooms, Washing machine, Clothes dryer, Hairdryer, Ironing facilities, Outdoor shower, Pool table, Open Wood fire, Porta-cot, Infant Highchair, toddler bed side guard. Please advise if a portacot is required. Guest access A car is a necessity to get around Cowes. We are about a 7min drive to the main street. Parking is generally no problem in town. Or if you feel enthusiastic, the walk to town is about 50 mins by road or an hour along the beach. I recommend the beach route! Other things to note Things to do on the Island: * Peguin parade - make sure to book ahead to avoid disappointment. Particularly in holiday times as it tends to book out. Remember this all happens at dusk which can be tricky for toddlers. * Go Karting at the Moto GP track is so much fun. It's on a replica track on-sight with spectacular views. You can ride tandem with the younger folk or single carts from 12+. * A Maze n things. Quirky fun with a ropes course. * Clip n Climb for the kids. * 2 x golf courses. Phillip Island golf club 18Hole corse or Red Rocks Par 3 9hole. This one is walking distance from the house. *There is a weekend market on each week. Consult google as to which weekend market is on and where. *Beach walks around the property can be pretty spectacular especially at sunset. Look out for wallabies and echidnas. My favorite walk is to take one from the house- use the pedestrian gate near the tree house, and walk through the car park up Penguin Ave to the end of the graveled road (only a few hundred meters) walk past the beach stairs (don’t go down) and onto the bush trail. Through the tea trees. Spectacular views of the coast line from up there. Path winds around a bit then tread carefully or slide down the sand dune onto the beach and walk back to the house along the beach past the red rocks and up the beach stairs. Probably only take 20mins maybe a bit more with the young ones 😍 Otherwise explore the multiple beach access trails off the fire track at the front of the property. Wallabies come out around sunset. Good family eating Hard to go past Pinos. Go early as it gets very busy and they don't take bookings. *Using outdoor speakers at the property: You can play your Spotify/Apple Music (or anything from your phone) over the outdoor speakers. Simply play music on your phone then change the input on your phone to the Edgewater Sonos and it will play instantly on the outdoor speakers. Guests will have full access to the entire home, with the exception of locked cupboards used to store supplies. No access to the caravan.
