Description
You can camp all year round in our remote traditional barn, with cosy wood burning stove. Sleeping up to 12 guests its ideal for family and friends get togethers and people wanting to get away from it all. With truly outstanding views and dale walks in all directions our barn is a perfect base for walkers, cyclists, climbers, scouts, D of E and school groups. Good for teambuilding and children's parties/sleepovers (large empty upstairs room). Welcomes quiet parties (not stag and hen) Parking The space The accommodation is basic but characterful and quite magical when candlelit and the woodburner is glowing. If you want to escape the stresses and strains of modern living our barn offering budget group accommodation, with no electric, wifi or distractions, is surely the place to be. All the fun of camping without the tent to bother with however you need to bring your usual camping equipment including camping mats or blow up air bed, sleeping bags, cooking stove and fuel, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery. As there is no electricity in the barn you will also need to bring torches and flat safety night/tea light candles and logs for the WOODBURNING STOVE. The ground floor of the barn comprises Entrance lobby with coat hooks and plenty of room for storing boots, rucksacks, etc. A Washroom (with flush toilet and hand wash basin, sorry no bath or shower) Being located in the barn the toilet facilities are more convenient than those often found when camping, in the respect that you do not have to venture outside or go to a different building to use the wc. Cooking, eating and living area with two large picnic tables, kitchen units, sink and cooking bench Multi-fuel stove - which is purely for heating the barn downstairs (there is no heating upstairs). The stove cannot be used for cooking. Only dry seasoned logs or smokeless fuel should be burned- enquire when booking. A cold water tap at the front of the barn for washing dirty boots. The first floor is very traditional retaining Original exposed stone work Magnificent internal wooden beams The Old wooden hay stalls - these have been reused as a feature providing a safety barrier around the stairwell This large empty room used for sleeping enjoys wonderful views from both windows There may be wood available to purchase from us. 2 Dogs are allowed by prior arrangement only to be discussed at the time of booking. Dogs to be kept under strict control as this is a working farm. Dogs not to be left alone in the barn
