Cosy yet bright and airy, the space enjoys open views across the surrounding fields. Tucked away in a quiet valley amid beautiful countryside, it’s an ideal base for walking, cycling, or simply slowing down and relaxing beside the 8m x 4m pool. Perfect for two, the gîte is also well suited to a small family. The day bed in the living area converts into a comfortable bed for a child, and we have a travel cot available for our youngest guests. For safety reasons, the cot is positioned downstairs. The space Throughout the property, we’ve incorporated beautifully restored recycled wood. The light fitting is crafted from an old barn beam, while the staircase panelling and bed headboard are made from the original chestnut parquet flooring from the main farmhouse. The result is a light-filled space that blends modern comfort with subtle touches of the property’s history. Although compact at 43 square metres, the gîte feels surprisingly spacious. Thoughtful details have been added throughout to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay. The kitchen is well equipped with essentials including cooking oil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper, as well as tea and coffee. The shower room provides the basics too — shower gel, shampoo, toilet roll, and hand soap. The accommodation has its own private entrance, allowing you to come and go as you please. At the front of the property is a fully enclosed private garden with a patio, pergola, table and chairs, sun loungers, and a BBQ. Parking is available on the grass outside the main gates. We have a barn available for secure overnight storage of motorbikes or bicycles. Cleaning is included in the price, provided the property is left clean and tidy as found. If additional cleaning is required, a €50 fee will apply. One well-behaved, house-trained dog is very welcome — we have a friendly collie who loves to play and two cats. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times on our property, except when inside the enclosed gîte garden. For hygiene reasons, dogs are not permitted in the swimming pool area. A welcome basket will be provided for all stays over 7 nights. It will contain locally sourced staple items as well as some treats; our own free range eggs as long as the hens are laying and depending on the time of year, some fresh vegetables from our garden. Guest access Fréne has it's own door so you can come and go as you please. It has it's own enclosed garden at the front of the property with a patio, table and chairs, sun loungers and a BBQ. Other things to note A welcome basket of locally sourced items is provided for guests staying seven nights or more. It contains basic staples plus a few treats. Breakfast can be provided if required, but it must be booked in advance. We have two children, a dog and free range chickens and sheep in the field.
