This is a completely private apartment on the garden level of our home. We are a family of 4 and do our best to be courteous- you will likely hear our footsteps upstairs. It's an old house, but we are very grateful to live in it. :) There is a small kitchen + bathroom (with a new shower!) and good size bright bedroom and closet. Heat is from a forced air unit that can be loud. Some people have chosen to use the electric fireplace we provide instead, if they like that better. We also use a window A/C unit in the summers. The apartment itself stays relatively cool without too much use of A/C. This area of Evanston is very cute and safe. It's a quiet street with friendly people and close to the Metra and to lots of fun shops on Central Street. You can grab an Uber or close-by bus to downtown Evanston if you want all the options. I sometimes walk to downtown Evanston (20mins). Closest walk: Central Street has coffee shops, bakeries, sandwich shops, pubs, art galleries, a wine bar, a pizza parlor, etc. You will enjoy your stay and have lots to do! You have full access to the apartment. It has a separate entry. Feel free to use our yard and chairs on the property. There is a patio set just for you by your door. I am happy to chat with you and say hello! Our family lives upstairs and I'm sure you will see us around...taking the kids to school and activities or working on the yard. Neighborhood is very friendly and lots of delicious restaurants and things to do. Central street is 3 blocks away and so is the metra if you want to visit any spots on the Northshore or Downtown Chicago. Public transportation is about an 8 minute walk - very convenient if you want to go to the City of Chicago. Its about a 20 minute ride and the Metra is very comfortable and temperature controlled. If you have a car and want to explore Evanston, there is so much to see. Currently our garage is being reconstructed at the back of the property, but we can let you know if there will be any noise. It’s pretty far away from your space.
