The living room has a black couch that converts into a futon. Relax on a leather couch, play a tune on my Chickering piano, watch your favorite TV show. My 'smart TV' allows you to access your Netflix account. The two bedroom areas are connected by a 3/4 bathroom. Guests can listen to classic LPs or classic CDs and view DVDs on a large-screen TV. Up to 5 guests can dine in the kitchen which features an electric stove and oven. Elaine also provides a mini-refrigerator stocked with milk and juices, and a filtered water dispenser in the living room area. Breakfast will include ready-to-eat breakfast meals, fresh fruit, milk, juice, coffee, and/or tea. Additional menu items include Russian Bread Pudding, the host's original "Italian Omelete", French Toast, or buttermilk pancakes. This is contingent on the host's and guests' schedules. A gluten-free toaster is available upon request. A cribbage board and pinochle cards can be found in the Linden Room vintage-style bureau. For the coffee aficionado, Elaine serves Wood-Fire Roasted Coffee (Americano, latte, cappuccino, or drip) and can regale her guests with some historic and obscure facts about coffee's origins. Displayed artwork [in the Palouse Room] and paracord key chains [the living room glass case] are available for sale. Guests can enjoy the photography of local farmer/photographer, Richard Slover from Valleyford, WA shows glass framed photographs of iconic Spokane views and Inland Northwest scenery. [Please pardon my flash when it reflected off the picture's glass.]For all guests, you will find a copy of today's newspaper awaiting your perusal on your bed and a welcome platter for your enjoyment the day you arrive. A new level 2 charger has been installed in the driveway that is designated for On Sacred Grounds guests (main floor). Free charging is available for guests. For larger families, the entire home can be rented which includes the first floor [On Sacred Grounds] and basement area and back patio {listed as the Franciscan Cellar}. That combined listing is known as the Historic 1913 Craftsman Home. Please note that the On Sacred Grounds listing is described as a town-house since it shares a wall with the basement area which has a separate entrance and is a separate listing. Specifically, the floor of the top listing is the ceiling for the basement apartment. It is an older home and noises may travel. Guests need to be mindful when quiet time begins. Please note that the evening rate is determined by two factors: the day of the week and the number of guests booking. For each guest beyond 1, an extra guest fee of approximately $7 is accessed. Discounts are offered for multi-night visits. Guest access From the front private entrance, guests can access the entire front portion of the home: the Linden Room, studio, adjoining bath, and spacious front living room with a gas fireplace, host's piano, and a kitchen area for eating and cooking. This entire area is called the Linden Suite. The kitchen comes equipped with plates, utensils, pots, and pans. The kitchen table easily fits four people with an extender. Iron and ironing board are provided. Board and card games are available. Guests are encouraged to watch TV, listen to my collection of LPs/CDs or thumb through some examples of my favorite book titles featured in the Linden Room book shelf. Elaine has prepared a welcome guide on the secretary that should help orient the newcomer to Spokane. Other things to note An early photo shows Daisy in the basement area, she no longer resides on the property. No dogs or cats are in the home. This is an older home; one can hear the sound of water running through the pipes at times. Noises sometimes travel. The 94 bus line stops on my corner (5th and Florida). Guests should park in the driveway that is accessed from Florida St. Signs indicate what areas are reserved for specific guests. City regulations require the responsible guest to provide government ID, permanent address, and phone number for the host. Information will treated confidentially. If this information is not provided, the booking will be canceled and money not refunded. It is also possible to rent the entire house (On Sacred Grounds and the Franciscan Cellar) simultaneously. It is listed as 1913 Historic Craftsman Home. While I do permit alcohol on the premises, I ask that guests inform me when they check-in and consume adult beverages responsibly.
