Martha’s Farm Cottage is a two-bedroom, one bathroom home in Kefalonia. It is located 3 km away from Lixouri in Mantzavinata village which is a Geosite, part of Kefalonia Geopark. The home is equipped with all modern amenities combining the essence of modern living with an atmosphere of tradition with home grown vegetables and olive oil. The cozy whitewashed rooms offer plenty of space while outside you will find pretty places to sit and dine reinforcing your biophilia emotions. The space The home’s position embraces the unique panorama of the region’s characteristic clay geological formations covered with olive trees, merging into the far-reaching waters of the Ionian Sea. It also overlooks a tiny farm which contains an olive grove, a vegetable garden and about ten happy sheep. The Xi beach which resembles the reddish-brown and grey colors of Mars is less than 3 min driving distance from home. Vrahinari beach where Careta turtles choose to create their nests and Vatsa beach with the nearby river are just 5 min from home ( by car). Once you arrive at Martha’s Farm Cottage, you may live Greek-style-entirely outdoors. The cozy iving room with a dining table and an open-plan fully equipped kitchen opens directly to the (olive-tree) shaded terrace and the “Greek-summer” view. The master bedroom – a white on white room - with a white build-in double bed shares the same clean feeling. The cozy second bedroom with the Greek- village view of Vouni ( nearby village) offers a lots of space so you could also work while on vacations. Outside you will find plenty of places to sit and dine while the almost constant breeze would protect you from the Med summer heat. All the rooms have inverter air-conditioning units. Other amenities include (stable) Wi-Fi, satellite/flat screen TV, hair-dryer, iron and ironing board, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave oven, electric stove and exterior shower (cold water). There is a private parking at the property. Linens, sheets and towels are provided. The beds will be freshly made on arrival. Home truths: • There are quite a few steps up to the house with no elevator available • The home’s structure is not appropriate for pets or events • I live in a separated apartment on the lower level of the property. • Please don’t smoke into the house Guest access Guest’s would have access to all sections of Martha’s Farm Cottage except my apartment and its back yard which is actually a separated home . Other things to note This would be a holliday of relaxation and peace of mind. This is why the price includes the Climate Resilience Fee (tourist tax). You can relax at the patio celebrating the art of doing nothing or as Italians say “La Dolce Far Niente” – the sweetness of doing nothing.
