Reconnect with nature in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes, an authentic experience of forest eco-tourism on a private estate of 10 hectares, at an altitude of 850 m: preserved natural setting, Slow-Travel and responsible tourism. Stay in an authentic log cabin, imported from Tennessee, which will immerse you in a unique American atmosphere. Your host will welcome you for an exotic immersion 100% USA, in this timeless place. The space Designed to accommodate 2 to 4 people (sleeping possible for 5 people, but a little limited space for 5 during the day), 25 m2 on 2 levels, this 20 cm diameter pine log cabin (yellow pine) was imported directly from Tennessee. The plans were made to measure by our American supplier. A "log cabin" similar to those found for tourism at the entrance to American National Parks, such as the "Great Smoky Mountains" in East Tennessee, close to where our cottage was made. You will find rustic, exotic comfort, basic (electricity, heating, but no water connection), which will give your stay an American authenticity and a taste of back to basics. The ground floor includes, among other things, Kentucky furniture in cedar logs: 1 futon (convertible into a super comfortable double bed), 1 square table and 4 large chairs and 1 storage unit with 6 drawers. The mezzanine is accessible by a miller's ladder (rusticity obliges!) and includes 1 double bed and 1 single bed with all comforts. During your stay, the entire cottage will be reserved for you, but it is not a self-contained cottage, even if you will have some independence. It is a lodge, accessible and habitable in all seasons, even under the snow! HEARTY BREAKFAST taken in the community is included in the price and in view of the comments, it seems highly appreciated by our guests... Access to the bathroom (toilet and bathroom), the kitchen (loan of the kitchen and meal kit on request without supplement) and the WIFI of the buron (old farm converted into a guest house and dwelling), 60 m away, in the common areas to other travelers. (Extra toilet in the cottage; the cell phone works...). For large families and family groups, guest rooms are available in the buron (see: "Kentucky and Native Americans - The USA in Auvergne"), as well as another Tennessee chalet. Total capacity of the Estate: sleeps 15. This chalet is not a tree house, but a real typical American log cabin nestled in the middle of the forest: Kentucky log furniture, double glazed guillotine windows, "western style" fan, country decor imported from the USA, American newspapers, animal skins... a country atmosphere in V.O. to discover! It really has something of Tennessee! America as if you were there... Guest access Experience Slow-Life and Slow-Travel in complete freedom: come and recharge your batteries here, relax in this soothing atmosphere in the heart of the forest... Large green spaces are accessible, because the estate is an old farm converted into a spruce plantation nearly 50 years ago and into richly wooded grassy areas. Oaks, beeches, birches, hazelnuts, maples thrive on a rich soil benefiting from a basement of volcanic origin. Dining area inside the chalet and outside (garden table and chairs available). Tex-Mex meal around the campfire can be offered depending on the weather, as well as a campfire vigil to the sound of the harmonica... Other things to note You will immerse yourself in a unique forest eco-tourism experience with American accents. Take a few days to settle in here and enjoy the memorable pleasure of Slow-Travel, this new form of responsible tourism that preserves the planet! The Estate consists of 10 hectares of private forest, surrounded by hundreds of hectares of forests and meadows. Our closest "neighbors" are cattle and wild animals (roe deer, deer, foxes, dormice, hares, badgers, squirrels, red kites, jays, woodpeckers...) and the first other humans are 1 km away! An ecological walk on the Domaine can be offered to you, or a workshop "Discovery and Safeguarding of Forest Areas"... Respect for the ecological values in force on the Estate is requested. A good opportunity to discover pragmatic ecology! The Domaine du Chiroux is a unique place in which we live in harmony with nature. Here you will discover pragmatic ecology, which is dictated directly by the laws of nature, far from the good conscience ecology of the industrial world. And when sharing your impressions after spending a few days in this peaceful place, please evaluate the entire unique experience you have just lived and not just the cleanliness of the common areas with a city dweller's eye; we are in the countryside and surrounded by nature, not in a sanitized place, there is dirt and cobwebs!
