Charming cottage near Le Touquet

The space Very charming cottage in beautiful agricultural setting in "Les sept vallees" on 35 minutes drive from Le Touquet - Paris Plage and only 15 minutes from Montreuil sur Mer. The cottage was built (1882) in the local traditional U-style, meaning that the main building, the barn and the old stables are built around a courtyard. On this very sunny "cour", you are protected from the sometimes strong sea wind. One could say, as long as it's not raining, you can comfortably sit outside throughout the year. All is situated on a plot of about 4.000 M2, with several terraces (sunny and shady), a lot of grass, fruit trees and parking space for several cars. From the cour at the front there is a lovely wide view over the fields, whereas the back garden provides privacy. The main building contains a large living/dining room with exposed beams and charming "Godin" wood burner which gives away a lot of heat. The closed fitted kitchen is on the back and contains an induction cooker with stove and a dishwasher. The kitchen leads to the sunny terrace on the back of the house where we usually enjoy our dinners in summer. NB: We do not have a microwave, nor a washing machine!! One smaller bedroom with 2 beds is located on the ground floor, as well as the bathroom with sink and bath and a separate loo. A cosy library is also on the ground floor, with heavy dark beams and a huge NOT WORKING old fireplace. On the first floor there are 2 good-sized bedrooms with each 2 beds. The beams on this floor are low and the staircase is difficult, so these rooms are best suitable for the younger and not too heavy guests. Closest facilities are at 8 km in the village of Hucqueliers. There you’ll find among more the supermarket Carefour Contact, a bakery, “friterie”, bar/tabac, tourist office, hairdresser and the well known Auberge d’Hucqueliers which is very nice for lunch or dinner. The new Louvre Lens which opened last december is at only one hour from our place in the former mining city of Lens. Entrance is free the first year after opening! WIFI available.
