Colletta is a medieval village that was abandoned in 1950. It has been restored from the ruins and now resides among beautiful wild mountains and peaceful olive groves, only a short drive from the bright lights of the Italian Riviera and its social life. A 150 meter walk down the hill takes you to the associated olive grove, with a private picnic table and often fresh cherries ready to eat from the tree. The village is the ideal base for a stay in Italy. Not only are there beautiful walks, climbs and mountains just outside your door, but it is possible to take a trip to Nizza, Monico, San Remo, Genoa, Cinque Terra, Pizza, Turin. Florenza and other Tuscan destinations are also possible day trips. You are in the hills of the Maritime Alps, so you can walk to a 1700-meter peak from your front door or in an hour's drive enjoy the alpine meadows and streams of the Val Tanaro.
