Geat beach cottage on Tasmania's beautiful East Coast with a recently updated kitchen and bathroom and comfortable eclectic furnishings. Stone House is right on the bay with a fabulous deck for sunny days and beautiful stone fireplace for the cooler nights. The space Stone House has 3 bedrooms and amenities downstairs and the upper floor is all living and kitchen space, opening onto the large deck. The house is very comfortable and is fully equipped. Guests have the house to themselves and also have the use of kayaks, bikes, boogie boards, snorkelling and some fishing gear. On arrival guests use a personalised code to access a small locker containing the house keys. We live some distance from the house so you will probably not see much of us. We will set up the house for our guests and will then be available by phone to help out with any queries or problems. The house is right on the bay and a short walk to the nearest boat ramp and beach. A little further on are a number of excellent beaches, both within the bay and on the ocean. The township of St Helens is 7 km away and has all the services you could need. It is a very pleasant walk into town, much of it on a waterfront walking path. allow an hour or a little more. There are a number of cafes, galleries and interesting boutique/gift shops to make the walk worthwhile. You will need a car as public transport is limited in this quiet town. There is a small airport, serviced only by charter flights, a short distance from the house. Car hire is available in St Helens and there are bus services between the East Coast and Launceston but most visitors from outside Tasmania would hire a car on arrival at the Launceston airport and drive the 2 hours to Stone House. North of St Helens on the coast is Binalong Bay and The Gardens and the beautiful coast line of the Bay of Fires. On the Tasman Highway north of town are a number of attractions worth seeing. The Pyengana Cheese factory, the Pub in the Paddock and the St Columba Falls are all worth a look and all less than an hour from the house.
