5 bedroom house in Child Okeford, a pretty village in North Dorset close to local amenities and 40 mins from the sea. Large garden and 6 reception rooms and 3 bathrooms. The space The Space 5 bedrooms to sleep 9 adults but can accommodate extra guests preferably children on spare mattresses on floor. This is a busy family house; it is homely and clean and there is plenty of space! We have run it as a B&B for 15 years so 2 of the rooms are kitted out for B&B and the further 2 are our teenage children's rooms so are nicely decorated but with teenage bits and bobs and the 5th is our own huge superking bedroom/ensuite! A sunny family house in Child Okeford with large garden (third of an acre), views of Hambledon Hill, a prehistoric hill fort in North Dorset. We have the North Dorset cycle trailway within cycling distance of Child Okeford where you can bicycle safely 10 miles to Blandford Forum or Sturminster Newton in the other direction with some good pubs along the way. Hallway with storage for boots and coats etc; welcoming entrance hall; downstairs loo located within the private study but welcome to use the loo, playroom/snug with TV/Netflix/Now TV and woodburning stove, kitchen/diner with gas/electric oven, Aga, fridge, NutriBullet, Air fryer, Magimix, Kitchen Aid and all the mod cons! Large dining table to sit up to 10 with doors leading to kitchen garden. Utility room with washing machine and tumble drier; kitchen leads into large sitting room with flatscreen TV, Apple TV, Netflix etc, woodburning stove, piano etc and this leads into our conservatory which is our home gym and is the only room out of bounds although there is an additional charge of £50 if you would like to use the gym. Large pretty garden in 2 sections with trampoline, croquet, bbq, fruit trees, lawn, roses, herbaceous border and views over the countryside. Large outdoor dining table to seat up to 10 and further seating area under wooden arbour. Separate kitchen garden with another round table and parasol to seat 8 with gas BBQ. Upstairs to a landing with shower room plus a separate family bathroom and 5 available bedrooms; 1 large superking ensuite, 1 x large double, 1 x single room (can accommodate further mattress (these are kitted out for B&B) and further double being our daughter's room and further double being our son’s room. The large double room has views over our smaller tropical garden (!) and is between the shower room and family bathroom. WiFi internet access. Cycle storage available - and bicycles available to borrow upon request. Parking is in our large driveway. Fabulous walking and cycling from the front door (we are near to the cycle trailway, Hambledon and Hod Hill) and the Wessex Ridgeway for beautiful walking, Gillingham is the nearest train station. Both Shaftesbury and Blandford Forum and Sherborne are small market towns with plenty to offer within 15 minutes and we are only 45 mins from Bournemouth, Poole and Salisbury and an hour from Southampton and Bath. There is a good choice of restaurants, wine bars and pubs, twice-weekly market and some quirky shops in the area. We also have 2 pubs in our village, The Saxon Inn (bookings essential) and an organic farm shop, Gold Hill Cafe (delicious food Wed-Sat), post office/village shop, small garden centre and doctor's surgery. Bus route to Sherborne, Yeovil, Shaftesbury and Blandford Forum, Poole and Bournemouth within 2 mins walking distance. Guest access see above Other things to note See above
