The space GREAT FOR: - Singles, Couples or 2-3 friends - A quiet retreat from the world - Extended stays of a month or more (with deep discounts) - Access to hiking, lakes, waterfalls and the charm of the Litchfield hills - Remote workspace (excellent WiFi) - Those who appreciate quality design & details - Those who need an inspirational creative space (write your next song or novel)! - Early birds who don't mind the morning sun This magical 750sq ft. free-standing studio space includes spacious living/dining/sleeping areas, queen bed, work desk, and an extra loft with a single bed, sitting area and space for yoga/meditation/lounging, plus a full bath (with shower) and a kitchenette for coffee/tea/snacks, etc. Originally designed as an artist studio and sacred space, this is an exceptionally crafted light-filled space with 20’ ceilings, bamboo floors, solar panels and wooded views! It has got a private entrance (up a flight of stairs), a sweet deck overlooking the garden and a ton of natural light through big windows & skylights. We’ve got quality linens, towels, kitchen items, etc. We also have excellent WiFi, flat screen TV, etc. for work/entertainment. Original artwork graces the walls. Additionally, we are close to beautiful hiking trails, 10 minutes from the center of Brookfield or Newtown for shopping & restaurants, and just a mile from Lake Lillinonah for paddling, swimming, etc. If you have your own kayaks, paddleboards or Jet Skis, feel free to bring them! Our studio was listed by Business Insider as one of the best Airbnb's in New England! This is truly a healing retreat or workspace for those seeking quiet time in nature with modern conveniences close by. Guest access GUESTS HAVE ACCESS TO: - Private studio space, private entrance and deck - Space under the deck with a garden hose for rinsing and storing kayaks/paddleboards or outdoor gear. - 24hr access to full washer/dryer in the garage below the studio - You may also store extra suitcases or larger items in the garage during your stay. - Flat lawn area behind the studio - Please note that you'll share the driveway with the main house on the property, and we ask that you honor their space, deck, hillside lawn area and quiet hours. - Inquire about possible garage parking for your vehicle (especially in the winter), for an extra $10/night, $50/week or $175/mo. Other things to note Our gorgeous studio is above a two car garage, requires going up a flight of stairs. The loft is up an additional spiral staircase which is not appropriate for small children. Also note that while we have curtains and shades for privacy, the skylights and large upper windows let in moonlight, starlight and morning sun. If you need a dark space in the morning, this is NOT your ideal place. Guests have 24 hr access to a full sized Washer & Dryer, downstairs in the garage area under the studio. Laundry detergent provided for your convenience. There is no one living below you. The kitchenette does NOT have a stove or dishwasher. It DOES have a microwave, toaster oven, electric tea pot, Keurig, blender, and kitchen basics including plates, cups, silverware, cutting board, cooking utensils, coffee & tea, etc. Most guests find it perfect for heating simple meals, enjoying snacks and drinks, etc., but it’s not outfitted for major cooking. ***CORONA VIRUS UPDATE - DEC 2020*** In an effort to keep our guests, our cleaning lady and our family safe, we kindly ask that you note the following: - If you or anyone you know have been sick or in contact with someone who has been infected with the COVID-19 Virus, please do not come. We are offering a more lenient cancellation policy if needed, so please don't let money be your deciding factor. Our communal health is more important. - We thoroughly clean and disinfect between every guest, following CDC and Airbnb protocols & recommendations. Still, it is up to YOU to practice good personal hygiene, wash your hands regularly and keep social distance. - We have provide antibacterial hand soap. We also offer a basic stock of cleaning supplies which we encourage you to use during your stay to clean counters, faucets, light switches and other touchpoints like door knobs regularly. - If you are a guest that feels ill, please let us know and seek medical care immediately! There is an Urgent Care Center on Federal Road in Brookfield, and Danbury Hospital is 15 minutes away with full COVID-19 testing and treatment. - If we feel that our space has been compromised with an infected guest, we will immediately notify you if an upcoming reservation needs to be cancelled, and a full refund will be given. - We are a global family and it's up to ALL of us to slow the spread of this pandemic.
