Our gîte, designed for 8 people, welcomes you to the heart of the Montagne Noire, between Albi, Toulouse and Carcassonne, at the gates of the lakes. You can enjoy the swimming pool, Lola greenway PassaPaïs 250 m away, central section of the Véloccitanie (220 km cycling route), GR/PR at the gates of the restored farm. The space Our cottage, designed for 8 people, welcomes you to the heart of the Montagne Noire, between Albi, Toulouse and Carcassonne, at the gates of the lakes. You can enjoy the swimming pool, the 63 km "passa païs" greenway, and the GR/PR at the gates of the restored farm. The farmhouse has been restored but has retained the charm of the old. We have integrated comfort and modernity and we have combined them with traditional materials found on site. Stone, wood, slate, terracotta tiles mingle with objects found in the area and are regularly enriched by our findings... The farm is no longer operated as such, although we are still surrounded by calf, cow and sheep farmers. The orchard (35 trees) allows us to prepare good homemade jams, which await you upon arrival. We raise our chickens, geese and we have cats and a dog. The cottage is located in the west wing (south/southwest exposure) of the property. The gite has private parking, an entrance overlooking the orchard (planted in 2010). The cottage overlooks a one-hectare garden and a very small wood. Children can play safely in the garden, in a small courtyard and in a ping-pong room (balls and rackets available) with access reserved for our guests. The pool (12x5) is south-facing but unheated, it is accessible by the garden or by the reception parking lot, it is at the bottom of the main buildings (deckchairs (6), parasol, mattress/inflatable animals, ball... available). The swimming pool is accessible from 8am to 8pm from June 1 to September 30. Deckchairs and armchairs are available in the gîte and on the terrace. We respect the tranquility of our guests but are delighted to be able to share our good tips, our favorites and the stories of the farm and the region. The village of Rouairoux is 4 km away, so we live mechanically in the suburbs... We are located 250 m from the Passa Païs greenway. The grocery store of Lacabaréde, 800 m away, offers the necessities of survival (always open on days except Thursday and Sunday afternoon) and much more. Local farmers are at your disposal to sell their products (Albine, Rouairoux). We are on the road to the lakes, our favorite lakes are Lac des Montagnès in Mazamet (17 km) and Lac de la Raviège (24 km) in La Salvetat (they have supervised swimming areas) but others await you as well as several rivers. For sports lovers: Barouge golf course in Mazamet, caving in St Pons, climbing in Pont de l'Arn, canyoning, equestrian centers (hourly or day trips in the surrounding forests), mountain biking, hiking from 2 to 7 hours, tree climbing at Lac des Montagnès, Hautpoul Himalayan walkway (140 m long and 70 m high above the Arnette), fishing... For lovers of cultures and local curiosities: Textile Museum in Labastide Rouairoux (7 km), Museum of the Universality of the Sacred Carpet of St Amans Valtoret (7 km), Cathar sites and Museum of Protestantism in Mazamet and Hautpoul, production of sheepskins and leather in Mazamet... At the gates of Albi, Toulouse and Carcassonne. Car or bike... But no public transport at the house's doorstep. We are on the Toulouse - Béziers axis. We have a regional airport between Castres and Mazamet (30 km), other possibilities (Carcassonne 50 km). Other things to note The pool is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and reserved for the occupants of the cottage/ During the night we turn on the robot and the cleaning system. The pool is disinfected with chlorine, the PH and chlorine levels are regularly checked. The pool is protected by 2 alarm systems, but the best protection against drowning remains vigilance. Alarm access codes will be given to you upon arrival. The pool has the same depth (about 1.30 m) over its entire surface.
