Our rustic cottage is located in the middle of the Einsiedelwald forest, within walking distance of Kötschach. Here you can enjoy pure nature with unforgettable forest and alpine ambiance,and yet not far from the town center. Our hut is located at 750m above sea level,with many beautiful hiking opportunities nearby,such as to the Ödenhütte(1100m),further on the Mussn(2050m) or over to the Kötschacher Alm(1888m). The First World War has also left its mark here, and the open-air museum on the small Pal/Freikofel is a MUST for any history enthusiast!! The "war tour" with the World War Museum in Kötschach Rathaus is rounded off. The "Aquarena Frei/Hallenbad",the cable cars "Vorhegg", various toboggan runs and ice rink squares as well as the Alpine Club center in Mauthen provide variety and leisure fun in summer and winter. Other things to note The inn of the Waldschenke is quiet and tranquil,from 9 pm is usually curfew,so it is quiet and tranquil in the early evening.... Or would you rather enjoy the evening birds chirping with an eighth of red/white?? Once a month is "oldie night" with barbecue....that means we play music of the '60s,' 70s and '80s, with a record player and a lot of "noise", that's great fun for all guests...
