Please note you can INSTANT BOOK without pre-approval. Grey Alders B&B is warm and welcoming in a quiet rural setting with lovely scenery. The only noise is from the stream behind the house, the birds chirping away, sheep cropping the grass and a noisy rooster. We are fully licensed, with gin & tonic, wine, bottled lager and home-brewed farm cider all on sale at very modest prices. The space This twin guest room with en-suite shower is in our timber-framed eco-friendly lodge and is finished to hotel standard. There are integral wall lights above the beds and a view overlooking our fields, trees and waterfall with the stream flowing by. Please note the pricing is for per room, per night. (We also have a double room with en-suite shower, separately listed as Grey Alders on Airbnb, so if there are more than two of you, or you want separate bedrooms, you can easily make two bookings.) There are tea making facilities and a kettle in both rooms. You also have a 32" TV with all Free-view channels. Breakfast is served in our large kitchen-diner. A light breakfast of cereal, yogurt, toast and jam or marmalade with fruit juice and either Kenyan or Rooibos tea or proper coffee is included in your price. A cooked breakfast is available on demand at £5.00 per person with egg, bacon, sausage, mushrooms and tomatoes and as much toast as you can eat. Fruit juice is always not-from-concentrate, milk is full-fat, eggs are always free range and from our hens when they are laying, sausage is minimum 70% pork, bread is always oven-baked and jam and marmalade are home-made, from local produce when available. You are also welcome to walk around the farm on the various fields and you can go down to the river at the bottom of the farm. And then walk back up again...wellington boots are advised. Just make yourself at home. There is a disabled-access toilet and washbasin in the hallway. During your stay Stephen and Judy are around most of the time during your stay and are happy to help with ideas of places to visit in the vicinity or further afield. We can help you find a local restaurant, beach, castle, walk or view. Other things to note Judy is fluent in Swahili. Stephen has some knowledge of French. There is no need for pre-approval. You can instant-book up to 9pm on your day of arrival.
