The stylish dinning room seats up to 16; with an open fire, is perfect for a Christmas family party. The house is well equiped for foodies! Outdoors: after swimming in the properly heated pool, open from May to September, unwind on the sundeck for sundowners and enjoy an alfresco meal on the terrace. Here there is also a covered cooking area, bbq and plancha, perfect right the way through from Easter to September! For the Cycling enthusiasts there are two adult cruising bikes and 1 childs bike, plus pump and helmets! After swimming, play badminton, ping pong indoors or out and enjoy a classic boules contest! The pool has a safety cover and childs alarm. The house is generally sensitive to small children with stair gates, cots high chairs available by request! If you can tear yourself away and many guests say they struggled to leave the house; the nearest town is Fontenay le Comte, a town of art and history. There is a regular market and local restaurants. Visit the charming village of Vouvant, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France dating back to 1557 or Mountain bike in Mervent forest a wonderful family attraction with horse riding, kayaking, adventure park and even a Zoo. Ille de Re is not to be missed, cycle, sail, paddle board, eat oysters, shop! Or a take trip out to Fort Boyard from the beautiful town of La Rochelle! La Tranche is the nearest beach and amongst 150 km of beatiful sandy pine clad beaches along this stretch of coast. Last but not least the Vendee is the second sunniest region of France, historically the garden of France due to the perfect conditions to grow delicious local produce!
