In Dilu's Homestay, you can choose between the upstairs Peacock studio and the Elephant room downstairs opening on a flowered yard. In the heart of Kallady village, close to the town, not far from the beach, a neat and friendly family home to discover the Eastern Hospitality! The space Dilu's homestay is a upstairs house, in the same compound than the house occupied by Dilu's family. Guest access 2/3 rooms are available for the guests: - an spacious upstairs room with attached bathroom and balcony - a downstairs room, opening on the flowered yard / garden (see other listing please). The balcony studio (also called the peacock studio) is a spacious room, with a queen size bed (5ftx6.5ft), mosquito net, ceiling fan, bedside lamp, a small table and chair, and a sofa. It has a tiled attached bathroom featuring western style toilets, a sink with mirror and a shower with cool/hot water. A balcony allows guests to chill out with their favorite book... The downstairs room (elephant room) is smaller, has a queen size bed (5ftx6.5ft), mosquito net and ceiling fan. It has an attached bathroom featuring western style toilets, a sink with mirror and a shower with cool water. It connects with a third room (squirrel room) which has 2 twin beds, so that if guests are more than 2, they can be accommodated in these 2 connecting rooms sharing the same bathroom. Guests can also relax in the flowered yard and take their meals in the family's sitting room or courtyard. A small and neatly kept garden adds to the relaxing beauty of the compound. During your stay The family is composed of 3 members, Rusi, the father, Jothy, the mother, and Dilu, their daughter. Rusi generally works outside during the day, and Dilu is at school, but Jothy will be around to look after your needs. Jothy is a good cook and can prepare your meals with advance notice. The family members' level of English is limited, but sufficient to understand each other in most of the situations. In case you would struggle to understand each other, you can reach Eastern Homestay over the phone anytime for translation purposes. Other things to note There is a water filter that filters and chlorinates the water, so it is perfectly safe for you to drink it. We encourage the guests to refill their bottles and drink this water, to save money, and the environment... Gentle reminder: what you are about to book is a homestay, not a guesthouse or a hotel. Local houses generally have rooms that are quite small, which is adapted to the local families’ lives, but might be uncomfortable for guests coming from wealthier contexts. Therefore if you need large rooms, luxury beds or hot water and this is obviously not described in the listing, we do encourage you to find a place which is more convenient for your material needs, rather than booking one of our homestays with expectations that cannot be met in a family home and ending up dissatisfied.
