This listing is for Bed #1, which is one of two SINGLE beds in the upstairs SHARED "sleeping loft" area. The space is furnished with very comfy pillows and extra blankets. There is a half bath just across the hall – no need to go downstairs in the dark! Hadley Harbor is one of Neskowin’s historic beachfront homes, and is just steps from the sand. You can even enjoy a campfire on the beach and take in the breathtaking views at sunset! The host's bedroom is downstairs, so you will have privacy & comfort as if it's your own place, yet someone available to you if you should have any questions about the home or area during your stay. Aside from your own bed, and an upstairs sink and toilet (shared), a full bathroom downstairs offers a shower, and full use of the large kitchen and dining room with more spectacular views. Refrigerator space is available, if you should need it. The large living room with its wood-burning fireplace and comfy couches is a great place to relax between beach outings, and the deck offers protection from the wind and yet another place to take in the beauty of the Oregon Coast, especially at sunset. A large, grassy yard borders the town’s most popular path down to the beach and is a great place to play lawn games, enjoy a beverage, or just keep an eye on the local goings-on. One of the unique options to make your experience memorable while staying in the Hadley House, is to enjoy a campfire on the beach. Campfire wood can be purchased for an additional $6/bundle. If you haven’t visited Neskowin before, be warned that you may never want to leave. The tiny ocean front village was established in the early 1900s and arriving today feels like stepping back into simpler times. Charming beach cottages line the quiet streets, kids of all ages cruise past on bicycles/skateboards/ golf carts, and the world’s happiest dogs romp along the shore. Just strolling through town admiring the gorgeous yards and gardens, checking out the cool vintage homes, reading the hand-painted street signs and periodically detouring down to the ocean is a favorite way to pass time in Neskowin. When you get hungry, Neskowin offers a limited number of delicious dining options – the Café at Hawk Creek has creek side seating with views of the ocean, wood-fired pizza, and a full menu of delicious local fare. There’s also Neskowin Trading Company, a small gourmet grocery store with much to offer, including a large beer and wine selection. Neskowin also offers a weekly farmers market during the summer months, and locals wait anxiously for the fresh fish, delightful pastries and incredibly fresh produce all grown and made right here in our coastal communities. Finally a community golf course nestled at the foothills of the coast range offers a gorgeous 9 hole course, as well as frisbee golf, foot golf and a weekly outdoor movie in the summer. And if you can tear yourself away from Neskowin, nearby Pacific City and Lincoln City offer many more food, shopping and outdoor experiences. Parking is right behind the house and the neighborhood is very kid, dog, pedestrian and bike friendly - our streets are truly our sidewalks and we appreciate the slower pace of life, including our 15 mph speed limit. Leaving the village for the area's nearby towns and attractions does require a car. The Tillamook County Transportation District has routes to Neskowin from Portland, as far North as Astoria, and south from Newport. Please check their web site for a system map and timetable. If arriving to Neskowin by bus, it may be possible for me to pick you up at the bus stop, if my schedule allows. Please inquire via message if this applies to you. Or, feel free to bring a friend that you wouldn't mind sleeping relatively close to! If total privacy is what you’re seeking, you may not find it here because the owner / hostess has made Neskowin her full time home and because other guests may be staying in the other sleeping quarters. The closest location for gas is South on Highway 101 is in Otis (8 miles) or Lincoln City (10 miles). ATMs are available in Lincoln City at Safeway and all banks. A gas station is also in Pacific City, about 10 miles North, as well as a bank. Kindly observe quiet hours, which start at 10pm. No smoking of any kind is allowed on the property.
