Surrounded by forests, lakes, meadows and mountains, steeped in history and close to some of Ireland's finest beaches our wee homestead is the perfect place to get away without having to go too far. Pitch your own tent in the most unique surroundings and spend the night dreaming about the great prairies:) The space Welcome at Basecamp Knader - an adult only glamping farm nestled right between the beautiful Knader Forest and Assaroe Lake. Surrounded by rugged fields, clear streams, boggy mountains and soft meadows we are privileged to be able to share this amazing countryside, the rich rural culture and this wonderful lifestyle with guest, friends and travellers from all over the world... We are not a hotel, we are not your usual B&B. This place, this farm is our home which we lovingly try to make more self-sustainable and we always love to exchange ideas and visions about "the good life" and to connect with like-minded people. Paul grew up here and knows every rock and creature in the area (really:)), make sure to ask him for some of his stories because they simply are might we say - legendary:) It is our dream to step by step create a place for connection, meditation, education, cooperation, a place that is real soul food...our airbnb guests give us a chance to do that:) CAMPSITE ONLY - bring your own tent and your own camping gear...! Feel free to set up camp next to our majestic tipi or up at our ancient stone circle, share your stories around the campfire at night, try out our outdoor shower (or have a nice hot one in the cookhouse:)) and soak in the peacefulness and beauty of the Knader hills.... Looking for something else to do during your stay? Rent our canadian canoe (2 people) and explore the rich bird habitats around the lake or enjoy the health benefits of sweating in our Red Cedar Sauna and watch the deer and foxes play in the meadow below. We are surrounded by the county's plentiful attractions and ideally based to go and explore everything that makes Donegal the place to be for all kinds of nature lovers, hobby historians, adrenaline junkies, artists, outdoor explorers, friends of flora and fauna, ocean enthusiasts, hill walkers and cliff jumpers, for the spiritual ones and for everyone looking to connect again with what was lost. You can just stroll through the nearby forest, go birdwatching along the lake, take a day hike up the old smuggle routes to Lough Unshin and go skinny dipping while you are there, rent our canoe and paddle out into the sunset, walk into town and explore the secrets and stories of Ballyshannon, go horsebackriding on the beach, explore our stunning coastline and ancient history...the Gleniff Horseshoe Drive, Slieve League Seacliffs, Glenveagh National Park, Mullaghmore, Donegal Town, Marble Arch Caves, Ben Bulben, Glencar Waterfall, Beltane Stone Circle and sooooo much more is all right around the corner:) So whatever it is that you are looking for, let us know and we'll try our best to make sure you'll find it:) Come and meet your Wild at Basecamp Knader -we are very excited to meet you:) Other things to note please follow the directions that we send to you in our information email..the map on airbnb is not correct!:) Other things to note if you wanna do a bbq or have a romantic evening we are happy to put on a campfire for you:) please support us by bringing some extra logs from your walk in the forest or from the local petrol station.. there is a bumby gravel road going up to the house...make sure to drive slowly:) due to this being a working farm pets are not permitted (not even the cutest ones:))
