No Worries is 1350 sq/ft, plus 900 sq/ft private deck, 2bd/1bath with rain head shower, full kitchen, queen bed in master with 50in flat screen TV, wifi, fireplace, washer/dryer, workstation, queen bed in 2nd bedroom and an extraordinary bay view of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Angel Island and Alcatraz. No Worries is a dynamic mid-Century modern home, that (allegedly) was built 60 years ago by an architect who later helped design the original BART system. There is evidence of some crazy genius at work when you examine some of the angles and lines of this home, and of course, the swinging sixties decorative stylings, some of which we kept and incorporated into our renovation design. We think of our home as Mid-Modern: it is clean, super quiet, very light and bright with large windows and expansive views. When we purchased the place, we found other hidden history including photos of Point Richmond during World War II when it served as a ship building port, and became the official home of icon Rosie the Riveter. Please ask if you would like to see the pics—I keep both albums upstairs where Scott and I and our cat Wyatt Earp live. The entire downstairs home is yours--we live on top in a separate home, but we respect your privacy. Home has panoramic, three bridge view of the Bay second to none—we offer the best sky and water views in the East Bay. Pour yourself a glass of wine, or a cup of tea to watch stunning sunsets from your deck, or if its chilly, stay inside and watch the moon rise bedside from large picture windows that perfectly frame San Francisco, The Golden Gate Bridge, Mount Tamalpais and beyond. Blink and you may miss the red tail hawks patrolling the sky, or the occasional turkey motivating down the hill. Scott and Jess work full-time jobs, but are available by phone or email day or night for anything you need or have a question about. We live upstairs with two little boys and an elderly cat and we are seasoned pros at giving guests the privacy, peace and quiet needed for a relaxing stay. Team Scott n' Jess respect your needs, and we are happy to follow your lead about the level of interaction you prefer. Point Richmond is mid-point between two major driving routes into the city: San Rafael Bride to Hwy 101 to Golden Gate Bridge and 2. Hwy 580 to Bay Bridge. Each way is about 45 minutes by car. We are also the gateway to Wine Country, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, San Francisco, Mendocino and heaps more. Downtown Point Richmond is less than 10 minutes by foot, and two minutes by car--be mindful of the uphill on your way back! I still forget occasionally and buy too many groceries at Santa Fe Market, only to have much regrets about schlepping all my food/wine treasures back up Water Street. Point Richmond is very charming with excellent outdoor activities at your fingertips. Many people I know who live in the Bay Area, have never heard of our tiny, little hamlet tucked away in the very urban Richmond, but everyone who discovers this place immediately understands why its hard to leave. There are corner markets to keep you stocked with grocery essentials and decent wine, cute restaurants, funky dive bars, authentic pubs, excellent cafes, a small theater, art galleries, decent nail shops, local events with participation from the entire town, and so much more. There are heaps of hiking, running and biking trails, dog parks, people parks, beaches for BBQ-ing, kayaking drop-ins, swimming, yachting and more. The Bayshore Trail is flat, semi-paved, runs through Richmond and includes over 32 miles of shoreline paths. Car is most practical, but you can drive 6 minutes to the local ferry terminal for a relaxing, scenic boat ride into the city. You can also drive 10 minutes to BART, or Uber or Lyft your way around the Bay Area. We are very centrally located in the Bay Area (map us out!) so nothing is very far, traffic permitting. Scott hails from Sydney Australia, while I am an East Bay native but we have both traveled a bit and lived abroad, so we designed this place to include every thing the two of us would want in a home away from home with the notable exception of a dishwasher. My apologies in advance for this—we couldn’t make it fit in the original kitchen space. You will also be able to use our recently-installed high-speed fiber internet over WiFi at up to 600 Mbps!
