Description
Set in the heart of the Cornish countryside, 'The Jam Shed' is a unique, cosy, converted farm building located down a long wooded driveway. Surrounded by woodland and garden it's the perfect retreat. A haven for wildlife, The Jam Shed has buzzards constantly circling overhead, herons and wild ducks often visit the pond, the hedgerows and meadow are teaming with bees and butterflies and even the occasional deer passes by. The space The Jam Shed is all on one level and comprises a bright and airy open plan living room and modern well equipped kitchen area, complete with statement log burner and contemporary electric radiator should you need it. South-facing, double patio doors open up onto the gravelled seating area with views across the owners garden and to the oak woodland beyond. The bedroom compromises a comfortable king size bed, piled high with pillows and soft throws, with a further contemporary electric radiator and separate emergency access door. Double USB charger sockets either side of the bed. The bedroom is perfectly placed to fall asleep to the calming sounds of the nearby river, or the calls of the local owl population. The small contemporary bathroom has an electric shower and heated towel rail, with a built-in sink and toilet unit. The well equipped contemporary kitchen includes a hob/grill/oven, fridge, 1.5 sink unit, toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine and a double USB charger socket. The outside guest area also contains a large covered area for drying wetsuits or storing bikes, etc. Cushions/blankets are also provided for the outdoor seating and guests are welcome to use the picnic tables located on the old sand school situated adjacent to The Jam Shed. Beach towels are also provided. EV charging is available via an outdoor 240v three pin socket, an extension lead is available if required. The hosts live in a separate house around 85m further down the driveway. On arrival at The Jam Shed, when in season, you will be welcomed by fresh flowers grown by your hosts on site. Guest access The property is in a rural location and accessed down a long, private, stoned track through our woodland. A public footpath runs along the track. Parking is free, off-road and immediately adjacent to The Jam Shed. The nearest bus stop is at the end of our driveway, with connections to Falmouth or Helston and thence to the wider bus route network. Being in a rural location the bus schedule is somewhat limited. Other things to note The Jam Shed is ideally situated on a circular route for walking to the local village of Constantine which includes a SPAR shop and a general store boasts a famously huge selection of all manner of wines and spirits. The Tolmen Centre is at the heart of village life and hosts a varied arts programme. St Constantine Parish Church holds regular services and also hosts Monty's Community Cafe. Alternatively, visit the Potager Garden and cafe serving organic vegetarian food in a beautiful garden setting or walk through nearby Boshan Woods to the Slice of Cornwall cafe. Within a 15 minute drive you can reach the renowned sub-tropical gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan or one of the numerous beaches in the area.
