This grand terrace house, boasts sweeping views of Melbourne's skyline from its roof terrace. Featured on television (most recently ‘The Bachelor’ 2023) and interior magazines, fashion and wedding shoots, and documentary filming t's only a ten minute ride to the top of the CBD, 25 minute stroll to the city's famous football stadium (the MCG) and a five minute walk to buzzy Brunswick Street. This home is a luxuriously comfortable base to explore funky inner north Melbourne. Easy street parking. The space This is a unique, art-filled family home of large, but cosily appointed living (3) and bedrooms (4) and vistas of the city skyline, parks, tree tops, nearby roofs, distant spires and historic landmarks. This makes it a much requested location for shoots and wedding photos which are available on a single day basis (please make such inquiries regardless of blocked availability status). In winter, the large garden terrace just off the master bedroom suite with its stunning skyline views provides magnificent views through spindly trees, but in spring and summer is filled with roses and gardenias and acts as a fourth living area (perfect for morning coffee, quiet reading and is furnished for outdoor dining and with a BBQ for meals). Entry to the house is via a grand, marbled floor hallway which leads to a stately breakfast room and a large, fully equipped kitchen (induction hob, double oven, 2 drawer dishwasher, ) which looks out to small (gated) pond. The laundry (washer/dryer) and a guest powder room also lead off the hallway. The rear of this floor houses two interconnected and grand, but casually comfortable, living rooms with multiple soft couches and armchairs for lounging, and a grand piano all sitting on dark, hardwood floors. The main staircase with its vast fan window leads to the second floor which houses one very large bedroom (queen bed) overlooking a park, one medium sized (queen bed) one smaller bedroom (queen bed). A large bathroom with double sink and large tub and overhead shower services this floor. The beds in all four bedrooms are dressed with European linens and feather pillows . On this floor you'll also find a Pilates reformer located in the wide hall way.. The third level, accessed by another set of stairs, is occupied entirely by the master suite with queen bed (with bar fridge, kettle, microwave, AC, large screen TV ), and bathroom (double sink). This huge, light-filled suite has a massive mirror, sofa and armchair and opens through wide French doors to the spectacular and completely private, rose filled and ivy-festooned roof terrace (in spring and summer). Its skyline views are perfect for watching fireworks at festival times or for gazing at the hot air balloons sailing overhead at sunrise in summer and autumn months. Guest access The entire house is free for up to six visitors only to use except for one room kept for the owner's storage and a dressing room off the master suite. The main bedroom on the top floor has air-con and the other three bedrooms have fans. The cleaning charge is applicable weekly or once only for stays shorter than seven nights. Dresser drawers or dedicated baskets in bedrooms are available for storage and clothes racks for hanging in all bedrooms. Please note that parties, gatherings and presentations are not possible at Grand Terrace. Daily hire for photo shoots is available at negotiable costs depending on times and crew size. . Other things to note This is a three level house with no elevator for a maximum of six guests only. A surfeit of games and toys are available for your use for families with kids and a fold down table tennis table can be accommodated in bedroom (2) if requested. Those looking for a long term rental are also welcome to inquire. Please note, after booking you will be welcomed to the house by one of our family (rather than by automatic key lock) and for everyone's security, the guest checking in needs to be the guest who booked through Airbnb. If other guests arrive first they may leave their luggage until the reservation holder arrives.
