Nestled away amongst several acres of lush woodland in the heart of the Breton countryside is the wonderfully charming gîte. A former watermill restored into a stunning gîte, the property boasts beautifully landscaped gardens with an array of native woodland flowers; a picturesque pond where you can see small trout leaping from the water; a natural stream running across the gardens and a small waterfall flowing down one side of the gîte. Fibre optic since 2025 Guest access With the property itself is a downstairs open plan kitchen, dining area and living area, with a comfy corner sofa, TV par satellite and DVD player. Wi-Fi is also available (login details will be provided at the outset). The living area also has a working wood burning fire. Firewood is available close to the fire as well as in the woodshed which is just a 2 minute walk from the gîte. The kitchen has everything you need, including pots, pans, plates, cutlery, a microwave, oven with electric hobs, fridge-freezer and washing machine. On the second floor there are 2 double bedrooms with ample storage space and a large bathroom with a shower and double sink. On the third floor is an additional bedroom with 2 single beds to accommodate more guests. The sofa in the livingroom can easily transformed to another double bed. There are two barbecue areas outside the gîte, as well as a clearing to the back of the property where you can have a bonfire. Sun loungers overlook the pond and a picnic table and bench can be found directly outside the kitchen. Dogs are also very much welcome and will love the private walks in the woodland paths or lazing around in the sun within the landscaped gardens. Other things to note The house is the perfect base from which to explore Brittany. A short 10 minute drive to the small fishing town of Douarnenez; with it’s steep, narrow cobbled streets that have changed very little over the past century, a mix of traditional and modern shops, markets and maritime festivals, it’s well worth a visit. A real oasis of peace and tranquillity with the pointe du Finistère on your doorstep, ready to explore.
