Stunning upper ground 2-bedroom apartment with parking nestled in the beautiful Spylaw Park on the banks of The Water of Leith and only a few minutes walk from the newly completed artworks at Colinton Tunnel. Colinton is a Conservation Village, childhood home of Robert Louis Stevenson and a perfect base to explore the city. Only 20/25 mins by bus or car to the city centre. Only 15 minutes drive from the Airport or get an airport bus which stops just a few minutes walk from the apartment! The space The building was originally a 17th century mill building and was incorporated in 1773 into an Adam-style mansion which was the home of snuff manufacturer and philanthropist, James Gillespie. Converted into separate apartments some years ago, our apartment is on the upper ground floor and entered via a dual aspect staircase which faces the park. There are two generous sized bedrooms, each with extremely comfortable super-king size beds which can be split into twin beds if necessary. We have an additional single stowaway bed which can be made up if there are more than 4 guests staying. There are wardrobes for storage. The living room has a double aspect window overlooking Spylaw park and is a perfect room to relax in. The kitchen includes electric cooker, fridge, freezer and washing machine. This room can accommodate dining for four and also overlooks the park where you can hear The Water of Leith running close by. There is an internal bathroom with bath and separate electric shower. The apartment is perfect for anyone seeking peace, quiet and relaxation whilst being only 20 minutes from the city. There is free car parking at the property (for one car only unless by prior agreement) . Locally, Colinton Village is only a few minutes walk away and offers a selection of shops, a small Co-op supermarket where you can buy everything you would need for your stay. It is open daily from 7am - 10pm. There is a great Italian restaurant, Dante's, a coffee shop and 2 pubs! The Spylaw Tavern is a newly refurbished gastropub. The apartment is situated in the beautiful Spylaw Park which is perfect for a picnic and that also gives direct access to the banks of the wonderful Water of Leith where you can walk or cycle. The stunning artworks of Colinton Tunnel are just a few minutes walk away. Guest access Guests can use the whole apartment and there is free car parking at the front of the building (for one car only unless by prior agreement). There is free wi-fi available. Other things to note The apartment is nestled in a beautiful park, only a few minutes walk from Colinton Village. To walk to the village, access is up a short but fairly steep hill.
