Beachybu is a 3-15 min walk to neighborhood beach stops & beaches with views, nature & wildlife. You’ll love our location, privacy & a cozy yet spacious cottage charm, outside deck & nature. Beachybu is good for couples, a small group of friends & families (with kids). It's a peaceful vacation community ~ relax and get away from it all where you can enjoy the beach, glorious sunsets, forest trails & fresh air! Indiana State Dunes Park is a short ride away that also has great hiking trails. The cottage is comprised of three sleeping rooms: a queen bedroom, a twin bedroom and a third sleeping room with a double bed as well as two sitting rooms, a dining room, kitchen, two contemporary bathrooms, recreational area and deck. Two sitting rooms offer options for hangout spots. The living room with smart TV is a great place to cozy up for the night or be social, while the sun room can be kept for playtime or reading a book away from others. The various skylights and windows bring in great natural light in most of the house that feels cozy and charming. The central AC and heat are there for your comfort and we also have great ceiling fans so you can keep the cottage open with fresh air if you so desire. The backyard had a deck with grill, great for eating outside and enjoying nature- we have tons of birds for birdwatching and deer walking through the yard. The backyard also has a stone patio with optional fire pit or just to meditate peacefully in nature. It is 2 - 4 blocks to a choice of two different beach stops and a 15 minute walk to a third beach, a 9 minute drive to New Buffalo and a 10-15 minute drive to the Lighthouse Outlet Shopping Center. It is walking distance to a nature trail along the creek as well as local playgrounds. We have vintage bikes for some great rides with breathtaking views along Lakeshore Drive or in the forested streets Beachy Bu has many personal touches in the furnishings and artwork that we hope will enhance your stay. Beachy-bu Cottage holds a lot of great memories from good times shared with friends, family, nature and the local wildlife. It's relaxed and fun where you can either keep yourself busy or just chill out! The surrounding area is perfect for a retreat as the nature views, sounds and rhythm lend themselves perfectly for resting, recharging and being inspired. There are beach stops along Lakeshore avenue where people walk, jog, run, bike and socialize throughout the day but especially for the gorgeous sunsets. Walk along the forest creek, or take a horseback ride and enjoy the view from above. Enjoy the creative local playground, tennis and basketball courts that are a 10 min walk away! Check out the local theatre at the Dunes Summer Theatre (arts foundation) in the neighborhood. Bring your bikes and roll down Lake Shore Avenue to the Michigan City Marina and downtown area. In autumn, come up and relish the changing seasonal colors, explore a nearby orchard, cozy up inside, or check out the nearby music and art festivals. Get around with short drives to nearby towns for restaurants, shopping, breweries and wine tastings. The South Shore line (train) is available from Millennial Park in Chicago to either Michigan City 11th Street or Carroll Ave stops and then get an Uber/Lyft ride to the cottage. 'Ride hailing' services like Uber/Lyft are most accessible during thedaytime up to evening hours in this area, not late night. Amtrak is also an option from Union Station to downtown New Buffalo. As mentioned, 3 parking spots available at the cottage. No beach parking in Michiana, but other public beach sites have paid parking sites if you would like to explore the park recreational areas and dunes. Our location is 2 blocks to the nearest beach stop 38, 4 blocks to the next beach stop 37 and a 15 minute walk, 5 min bike ride, 3 min drive to Stop 41-42 beach stop for options of accessible beaches based on the seasonal changes.
