Casa Caterina is located in the small and characteristic village of Lucchio, surrounded by greenery and with the possibility of multiple sports activities nearby suitable for adults and children, as well as very characteristic walks. From spring to autumn, Lucchio offers landscapes with wonderful colors, where you can immerse yourself in trekking, mountain biking, swimming in the Lima stream, looking for mushrooms and collecting chestnuts, all family-friendly activities. The space Casa Caterina is cozy and quiet, it is arranged on 3 levels, it has a large terrace with barbecue and views of the Val di Lima and a small terrace overlooking the village, it has a garden below made of terraces, the first is set up with a table and chairs in the shade of a large persimmon tree and bench, the rest of the garden has fruit plants and left natural in respect of all pollinators, you will also find cultivated aromatic herbs and wild herbs (arugula, fennel, chicory of various types, etc.) that can be consumed because no chemical treatments are carried out. Since 2022, the house has been equipped with a pellet stove that does not have the function of heating all the rooms, but, placed in the stairwell, it warms up in the coldest periods, the pellet to load the stove is given at cost price only at the request of the guest. In addition, for a more sustainable approach, from 2023 for cleaning and washing linen, equally effective organic detergents will be used and linen ironing will be avoided where possible. With sustainability in mind, the house is equipped with an 80-liter electric boiler for hot water and an induction cooktop. Guest access Casa Caterina is a semi-independent house that can be reached on foot after leaving the car in the free parking lot at the beginning of the village, with double access, one from the main road, about 300m and one from its own garden with stairs, about 100m, equipped with a cable car for transporting luggage. Other things to note For check-in, mainly done in person, instructions will be given on the day of arrival. As per municipal regulations, the tourist tax will be applied for guests staying less than 5 nights, which amounts to €1 per day per person. In the event that one or more guests arrive after the check-in date, we ask you to communicate this at the time of booking, so as to agree on the price that will rightly be calculated based on the days of stay. The house has no heating, it only has a pellet stove in the center of the stairs leading to the sleeping area and a fireplace in the kitchen. The pellet for the stove is given at cost price only at the request of the guest, the first bag with which to light the stove before arrival is offered. Being a house surrounded by woods, there may be encounters with wild animals typical of the area and different types of insects. Casa Caterina and Lucchio are not served by public transport services and the nearest train station, Bagni di Lucca Fornoli, is about 25 km away.
