Our two bedroom Victorian house offers a great base to explore the historic beautiful city of York and surrounding areas. The house is perfectly located for a visit to York Racecourse and the Knavesmire, a stone's throwaway from the house. A beautiful circular walk through the Knavesmire, a popular route with cyclists, runners and dog walkers. The space Our house is over 100 years old and though greatly cared for, shows its age in some places. Expect to find some loving wear, quaint aging both inside and outside. The Kensington offers homely accommodation that would suit a family or group of 4. It is perfect for any family with a four-leg furry family member as it is pet friendly. The house is set up for 4 guests but can accommodate up to 6, if guests are happy to camp out on the small double sofa bed. The layout of our home ... A private enclosed back courtyard with outdoor furniture, safe area for children and pets. The barbecue is available to use. A cosy living space at the front of the house with a smart tv, giving access to apps such as BBC iplayer, stream films on Netflix. Board games, books (or swop-a-book), complementary WiFi is available. Plenty of entertainment for a night in! The sofa can be made into a comfortable double bed. for extra guests if needed Along the hallway is the dining room. A light airy room with a family dining table, six chairs and highchair if needed. Plenty of space to get together and serve a family meal, picnics or takeaways. Leading off the dining room you will find a fully stocked, well equipped kitchen, with everything you need to cook. – Plenty of pots/pans/serving dishes for large meals. – Serving utensils. – Full set of knives. – Oven, grill and hob. - Microwave. - Kettle and toaster. – Fridge - Washing machine. - Coffee machine. We provide all those extra little things like tea towels, j cloths, washing up liquid, bin liners etc. Leading off the kitchen is the family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. Towels are provided for the number of guests booked. You will find upstairs .... Two spacious bedrooms featuring luxury comfortable super king size beds, the beds can be unzipped to accommodate two single beds if preferred. Black out curtains and plenty of bedroom furniture to store and hang your belongings. Both bedrooms have ample space for a travel cot. Bed linen is provided for your stay. The house offers free on street parking, there is usually a spot outside the house. Parking is available on either side of the street for an additional car. Guest access All access to a complete kitchen, laundry, dining, and living areas, for a full ‘home away from home’ experience. The Kensington is the perfect alternative to a hotel or guest house. Other things to note Well behaved dogs which are house trained are welcome. Please let us know. Quiet hours between 10pm and 8am, we live in a quiet residential street and like to the neighbours happy. Parties, gatherings, and functions of any kind are strictly prohibited on the Airbnb property. Parking can be tight due to the narrow victorian streets. We recommend to tuck your wing mirrors in! The sofa bed is a small double size, suitable for one adult or two children. Please note that the stairs are fairly steep as it is a victorian property, therefore may not be suitable accommodation for anyone with phyisical disabilities or young children.
