Thunderbird is a self-contained cottage with all the modern comforts of home to make your stay a home away from home. An insured four-wheel-drive car with winter tyres will provide you freedom of movement. Our Insurance policy states that anyone 26 YEARS or OLDER may drive the vehicle. Driver licenses issued in Mainland China are illegal to drive within Japan, excluding TW, Hong Kong, and Macau. The space Thunderbird Cottage is a snug architect designed 2 story building, situated on Misorano street within a serene, beautiful forest setting. Recently renovated, the subfloor is insulated with the latest foam technology. Thunderbird Cottage surrounded by forest and a view of the South Face Happo Mountain and Hakuba 47 Gondola is only about ten minutes away from the ski fields. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one with 2 x single beds or arrangeable into a double bed with a bed pad for added comfort. The other room has three singles, configurable into a double bed and the remaining bed is a single. It's just a short trip to the supermarket. EchoLand, only a few minutes away provides restaurants, bars, and nightlife. A Seven Eleven is just down the hill for that bevy run. Our place is suitable for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). ABOUT THE CAR. An insured four-wheel-drive van will provide you freedom of movement to access the nearby ski fields and restaurants. Please be aware that Japan has a no tolerance drink and drive law. Insurance doesn't cover alcohol influenced accidents. Play it safe and have a designated driver. AUTO INSURANCE As we are not a car rental agency you will be driving on our Insurance policy. Our Insurance Company requires you to be 26 years or older. However, please note that there is a strict no-tolerance attitude towards drinking and driving. That means NOT ONE drink. Your insurance will be voided should you get in an accident and the onus is on the drinker/driver. Play it safe and go with a designated driver and take turns. Please note that in case of a collision which involves replacing of automobile parts or automobile body panel replacements you will be charged an excess fee of JPY50,000. -The Insurance Company determines this fee to cover the repair bill. Note that you will return to Japan and we will have to deal with the aftermath. You must call us if and when the collision occurs as the Hakuba Police, and our Insurance Agent must be notified. To prevent high insurance excess fees, please drive responsibly and remember there is no alcohol tolerance in Japan, that means not one drink. INTERNATIONAL DRIVER'S PERMIT Japanese Law requires an International Driver's Permit to drive our car legally. This permit is valid for one year. Make sure your is good for the duration of your stay. Guest access You have access to all spaces except the small closet locked on the ground floor and the bedroom containing linen and cleaning products. Other things to note For those guests who have read the Terms of Service or any other types of Rules on Airbnb might want to skim over this post. This is for your benefit. Mostly it reads: - Booking accommodation is legally Binding - Read all the Rules including House Rules and adhere to them as they form part of the legal agreement - Leave the Accommodation in the same condition it was in when you arrived - Damage must be paid for. - Leave promptly on the agreed check-out time.
