Thrums beach house

With breathtaking sea views, Thrums was one of the very first houses to be built in Southbroom, and as such enjoys a plum position: elevated enough to enjoy those enormous blue horizons yet a few strides down the hill to Granny’s tidal pool. The house was bought by our family in the 1960s and recently renovated. The decor style is thoughtfully eclectic, keeping a sense of its beach cottage roots. Of the five bedrooms, four have sea views and three are en-suite.   The space N.B. Whilst Southbroom is experiencing serious water problems, Thrums has installed a 5000 litre backup tank. The open plan modern kitchen, TV lounge and dining area are spacious, airy and light, featuring a wall-to-wall, breathtaking sea view. In whale season, whale watching is a popular and absorbing pastime for the Thrums visitor. Two patios flank the main indoor outdoor area to allow you to find a protected spot in the sun regardless of the wind direction. A built-in braai facility plus a new Weber on one of the patios allows you the luxury of indulging in South Africa's favourite holiday pastime at every opportunity. The kitchen and scullery arrangement is fully functional, with a Bosch gas stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, bar fridge, dishwasher and enough crockery, cutlery and glasses. Thrums is secure with a full alarm system which is linked to a security company. A television is supplied. What to Bring: Beach towels, charcoal and groceries.
