Description
Jardin de la Sole, like its name implies, is both a flowering hideaway in the sun-drenched Southwestern French countryside and a place that nourishes the soul. We created this place as a sanctuary where people can slow down and connect—with each other and with nature. It’s our wish that the tranquility of our home can provide guests a space for reflection, relaxation, and respite from the hectic pace of everyday life. The space Along the meandering Lot River and surrounded by Cahors appellation vineyards, our garden & 170-year-old home are a haven for relaxation and tranquility. The extensive grounds open to a fruit orchard and direct access to the river. A scenic walking and biking path winds its way to neighboring villages such as Saint Vincent Rive d’Olt to the east and Albas to the west. In the town of Luzech, a short half mile walk from our retreat, a vibrant center square built upon the site of a navigational canal offers family-owned bakeries, a florist, a butcher and caterer, a pharmacy, and a busy weekly farmer’s market. In the 1950s, the owner of our home (and the village pharmacist) extended the original structure to include the beautiful guest wing. In 2020, we renovated the home, built a new wine and tasting cellar, and continue to tend the property’s gardens. Guest access Guest wing and gardens, shared terrace
