Boorowa's Irish Family Hotel Restaurant & Cafe`

OUR MISSION STATEMENT “To fill the earth with the light, warmth and laughter of great hospitality” Boorowa was settled by the Irish from Tipperary and is a twinning city with Clonoulty. The town is divided by 'Dissention Creek' with the Protestants on one side Catholics on the other! Boorowa has long been famed as an Irish town and it is repted that a renowned Scottish nun that was visiting Sydney was asked if she had ever been to Island? "No" she replied, "But I have been to Boorowa!" The space The Boorowa Hotel started life as a single story hotel called the "Royal Standard" built in 1880 by Michael O'Dwyer. A second story was added in 1905 and in 1954 it was renamed the Boorowa Hotel. Inside the building you can see the 1880 bricks and the improvement by 1905! There are some stunning historical photos in the Shamrock Cafe` that can be enjoyed through the day with either a coffee or a pint of Guinness from the bar! The accommodation has that old world charm with the outer rooms off the extensive verander being the perfect place to enjoy the setting sun or the cool of the night! Boorowa is a very friendly country town about 1.25 hours from Canberra, an enjoyable evening is easily spent chatting with the locals. Darts and pool are available for guests to enjoy! Guest access The Boorowa Hotel has the most wonderfully intermit bar spaces with three areas designated bar space. This opens out into the large, atmosphere filled restaurant that has the most extesive menu and a price bound to water your eyes! At the rear of the hotel is a nice garden area that houses a Cubby that is so pleasant to enjoy either your meal or that thirst quenching beer. A delight on a warm evening, with the most gentle breese adding to the freshnes! There are 7 internal rooms and 7 that open out onto the verander, the verander is very wide and has some nice cane seating or some of the old picture theatre seats. Registration Details Exempt
