Quiet, level in botanical garden setting...hummingbirds... convenient washer/dryer and dishwasher. Walk to UC, Peets, Cheese Board, Saul's, Chez Panisse and Fava. You'll find fresh eggs, granola + fruit, "good" coffee/tea. Wi-fi is strong except if power is out, a consideration for some guests. Also near Tilden Golf! The space Originally owned and built by Bernard Maybeck, this lovely space is a separate wing of the storied cottage on Nut Hill. Private enclosed patio and ask about other shared garden areas. A queen bed and comfortable couch (for a young person!) provide the best night’s rest. Also known as the original garage for “Bernard’s Packy” the space has wood ceilings, walls and historic/unusual details - come steep in artistic history of this landmarked home known as "The Maybeck Cottage." You'll enjoy the cache of books; if architecture, plants, locavore, history of CA or common and not so common handcrafts interest you.... Guest access Welcome to visit the gardens. Visit the tree house! If you love jumping, enjoy the trampoline. If want to use our second Weber BBQ, just inquire. Our gentle colony of honeybees is on the very top path of the back garden. Feel free to visit! Kathy is often available via text for a guided tour. When there is honey to be harvested, inquire about special experience of going into the hives, spinning and taking a jar of local honey home! Other things to note We've a new in 2025 organic Queen Mattress. The second possible sleeping spot is a long couch - it is easy to make up as a bed but for a smaller person! The apartment/cottage is professionally cleaned between guests. The WC is smaller than modern bathrooms, but has everything. Kathy teaches piano in the Studio building M-Th.
