Flat screen TVs in living room and main bedroom are set up for Roku and access to guest's subscription services. Dedicated high speed cable internet and wifi. Includes a work desk in the master BR away from common areas. Fully appointed kitchen includes fridge, stove and oven, microwave, and cookware to prepare a feast. AC and heat controls are readily available with temperature settings to your preference. Does not include a washer/dryer. The covered deck has comfortable wicker furniture overlooking a 4-acre tract of woods and mixed open field. A private loop drive has enough space for up to three vehicles. Cars with trailers and moving vehicles can get in and out easily. An outdoor grill and stone fire pit are available for guests to use. The book collection covers many quirky and amusing subjects, including travel, international relations, philosophy, China and Asian studies, brain teasers, political history, and classic fiction. The stereo comes with a classic rock and country album collection and quality wall-mounted speakers. Board games for youth and adults are on-hand for rainy days and down time. We allow pet dogs with advance notice. You will have access to the entire living area of the 850 square foot house. We keep the basement locked for storage. The yard stretches back several hundred feet into mixed hardwoods and guests are welcome to walk the property while respecting wildlife and plants. We are generally available during guests stays, with our own home located nearby. We are ready to assist with questions or unforeseen events as needed, but we are very respectful of guests privacy. Please contact us through the Air BNB app if you need us. We are on the western edge of Asheville -- a nice bucolic neighborhood with lots of trees and open pasture. Only a few minutes to Biltmore Estate, very close to the Buncombe County Sports Park, the NC Arboretum, Blue Ridge Parkway, French Broad River, and West Asheville restaurant and bar scene. Stand-alone short term rentals are not allowed in Asheville city limits. We are just outside of the city (by a few feet!), so our rental is 100% legit. You'll want a car or be willing to take Uber while visiting. Public bus service does not come to our street. We are about 3 miles from the heart of West Asheville, about 7 miles from the main downtown, and about 5 miles from Biltmore Estate entrance. This house is located in a residential area just outside the city limits. We are on a moderately busy street and have school traffic from about 8am to 9am on school days during the school year. This farmhouse was built in the 1940s. While it has been substantially updated, it is still an old house with some quirks. Light switches are in unusual positions and the dining room floor has a slight slope (1" over a 15 foot floor). Its has lovely character and a lot of charm. Here's our dog policy: We can accept no more than 2 dogs at any time. Your dog MUST be on flea and tick medication. As much as possible, keep dogs off of furniture and beds. You are responsible for your dog at all times. You will be billed for any pet-related damages. No cats.
