Situated in the heart of a quintessential Greek village, a holiday house near Koroni with a gorgeous secluded terrace and with views stretching across the valley and towards the Mani over the Messinian Gulf. The house has 3 bedrooms, two doubles and one twin, and sleeps 6 people. It is furnished simply and comfortably. There is air-conditioning available, although given its location at the top of the hill it catches the afternoon breezes beautifully. The garden, which is not overlooked, has plenty of shade and a range of places to sit and relax including a very comfy hammock. There are peaceful beaches less than ten minutes away by car at Amoudi and Kalamaki and more ‘organised’ beaches to the east and west, including our favourites Tsapi, Triada and Peroulia. Easily accessible, Pilinos is an hour from Kalamata airport and around 3 1/2 hours from Athens. Guest access The whole house and terrace are available to you for your visit. Other things to note Located in Vasilitsi – a traditional Greek village situated at the tip of the south-westernmost “finger” of the Peloponnese. Rural and remote but not far from Koroni, Vasilitsi is a traditional village with a few 21st century additions. You will hear donkeys, dogs and chickens as well as other sounds of village life. The residents are very friendly and the church, which is close the house, has bells which chime hourly as well as on Sundays and Saints’ days. In a region known for its wonderful oil and olives the village is surrounded by open countryside and fantastic views across the Gulf of Messinia to the Taygetos mountains of the Mani. With a small village shop plus two kafenia, you can get all you need within a short walk of the front door. And the jewel in the crown is Nikos’, a fantastic taverna renowned for miles around for the quality of the food, mostly organic and grown by Nikos, the generous size of the portions and the small size of the bill! Kitchen: Our kitchen is fully equipped with a full-sized electric oven and hob and a good selection of pans, serving dishes and utensils, plus an electric citrus juicer so that you can make the most of the wonderful local oranges. There is a large fridge with freezer compartment and plenty of cupboards for food storage. Accommodation: Most of the house is on the upper floor and accessed by an external staircase, as is common in Greek houses. Bedroom 3 with its en-suite shower and WC has its own access from the ground floor. Outside Spaces: At the back of the house, down a flight of steps, is a lovely terrace garden. This has great views of the village across the valley as well as a pair of mature olive trees, a lemon tree, a fig tree, herbs and other shrubs and flowers. There is a large outside table (plus umbrella) with stone benches and plenty of chairs. There is also a smaller table, comfy directors chairs, sun-beds and a hammock. At the front of the house is a shaded balcony terrace with a table and chairs. This is a lovely spot for breakfast with views in the distance of the Messenian Gulf and the Taygetos mountains of the Mani. Accessibility: Please note that the main part of the house is only reachable via stone staircases (front and back) which may not be accessible for everyone.
