Casa Fenice is located next to an olive grove and overlooking the cultivated fields of neighboring farms. Across the valley of the Saline River you will see the vineyard of San Lorenzo wines, the medieval villages of Elice and Castilenti, and small suburbs with support businesses for the farmers in the area. The nearest neighbor is 200m away, so with the exception of the occasional friendly farmer on his tractor, you are able to enjoy the blissful peacefulness of country living. The space Casa Fenice is equipped with all you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The home theater has enough soft leather couches for all guests to enjoy a full surround sound movie experience. When not enjoying a movie, there are comfortable spots for reading and enjoying the 65inch Smart TV. The kitchen has all that an accomplished chef or baker could wish for, including an induction stove, microwave and oven and top quality cookware. There are several appliances kept off site that can be booked for use including a pressure cooker, stand mixer, juicer, blender, food processor and bread maker. The top quality mattresses and high thread count sheets will ensure a comfortable night's sleep, while each bedroom has shutters to ensure your room can be completely dark, even for an afternoon nap. High speed fans and air conditioning will provide a comfortable temperature. Outside on the patio, enjoy our beautiful infinity edge swimming pool. The upstairs lounge ensures every guest has space to relax. For stays longer than a week, this space can be made up into beds for 2 additional guests, on request, at an additional cost of €30pppd. These couches may not be moved into another room. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. One has a bath and the other a shower. As an active farming area you will be able to observe as farmers go about their business in the fields. Depending on the season, the fields may be sown with wheat or sunflowers. Just a 10 minute drive down the road you will find a cup of coffee and fresh pastries at the Quattro Strade or Piane "Shortbread" bakery, small supermarkets, fantastic restaurants and an ATM. The Medieval town of Penne, our comune, is just 15 minutes away with all of the amenities of a thriving town. 25 minutes from us is the Pescara Nord mall with shops, restaurants and a large supermarket. 30 minutes away are the sandy beaches of Montesilvano, where you will find dozens of restaurants and beach clubs. It is 35 minutes to Pescara, with its boulevards of top class clothing stores, restaurants, bars and nightlife. In the winter, snow dependent, Casa Fenice is less than 90 minutes away from several good ski resorts. Guest access Guests are welcome to enjoy the fruit of all of the fruit trees and vines on the property. Depending on the season you will find blackberries, elderberries, apricots, nectarines, 2 types of figs, 3 types of peaches, pears, plums, apples, almonds, walnuts, persimmons, kiwis, grapes and cherries (sweet and sour). The neighbouring olive grove is part of the property to the ridge in the hill if you are keen for a hike higher for a better view. While the garden surrounding the house is currently partially landscaped, the wild grasses are kept trimmed to allow you to enjoy time outside. The lawn next to the patio is beautiful and soft! Because of our hillside location, a walk or run can be challenging. If you are a keen sportsman, the Contrada Domera loop is 6km door to door and has beautiful scenery along the country roads.
