PRIVATE guest lounge - dining & tv area, private bathroom, separate private toilet, and full use of house kitchen is available (shared with hosts). Hosts live in the house. The space Trail Time is situated on a small lifestyle block. The house is modern, spacious, warm and welcoming. A large wood burner creates a cosy atmosphere and warms the whole house although the guest rooms have separate heaters too. A large air con unit also operates when necessary. The guest lounge offers comfortable seating, a dining table, smart TV, reading material [some local history and information] and a slider out on to the sheltered veranda area. This room has a lovely view and has internal sliding doors to shut if off from the main lounge and kitchen area. The bedrooms have large wardrobes with hangers for keeping business clothes or wedding outfits in top order. Each bed has an electric blanket and extra bedding is available. The private guest bathroom is spacious and immaculate. Local scenery is to be viewed out of all the large windows and we truly are in the heart of Central Otago. The gardens reflect the local landscape with tussocks, rocks, schist areas and a variety of flowering trees. A variety of colour pops up all through the year. The guest rooms are spacious, comfortable clean and well equipped. The veranda really offers a peaceful sheltered resting area with a Central Otago view. On the other side of the house fence our 4 competition horses graze. The house section is fully fenced. Our location is a real asset as we are in the middle of the local district and close to most things. Guest access Guests enter the house through the main front door. Once moved in, access is also possible through the sliding doors that lead on to the veranda.Guests have access to the laundry with washing machine and dryer. A large private bathroom with a huge walk in shower, heated towel rails and a hair dryer. Guests have a separate private toilet. Our kitchen is available for use [please clean up behind you]. It contains 2 ovens and is spacious and clean. A shelf in the fridge is kept free for guest use. A large veranda allows peaceful views of Central to be enjoyed while you have an outdoor lunch or coffee. The 2 guest bedrooms are spacious and attractively decorated and comfortable with good views. All your bed linen and towels are supplied. Bikes can be kept securely in the garage. Plenty of car parking is available. During your stay Your Hosts Bernie and Ann are happy to help you in any way they can. You are welcome to spend the evening with them in the main lounge or enjoy privacy in the guest snug. Being an ex accountant Bernie has a broad knowledge about many things and is very easy to talk too. Ann is the horse rider and instructor. Being an ex school teacher she knows the importance of putting people at ease so everyone can relax and enjoy their stay at Trail Time. Other things to note Trail Time is in close proximity to the wedding venue 'The Orchard Garden', is surrounded by local wineries [some of whom are open for wine tasting] and is a short drive away from many local artist studios. We are very close to the local airport. We are 5 minutes away from the start of the Otago Rail Trail. There are many exciting mountain biking trails too. We are minutes away from fabulous cafes and restaurants many of them located in historic building such as The Post Office, The Court House and The Bank. Over the street is the historic and famous restaurant 'Olivers'. Alexandra has an extensive range of eateries too. We are a short drive from the historic towns of Ophir and Omakau. Our local area is of course famous for fruit, honeys and locally grown produce. Clyde and Alexandra have many historic relics of the gold mining days e.g. stone cottages and the mining tailings. We are only an hours drive from the resort towns of Queenstown and Wanaka. Both these towns offer a selection of ski fields and other adventure tourism activities. Our handy location means you can bike or drive to Clyde and Alexandra easily on either the Rail Trail, the highway or on walking tracks. You are close to the Clyde Dam and Lake Dunstan for a range of water sports and close to the mighty Clutha River for boating etc. There are lovely local walking and biking trails. A complete swimming pool complex is 4 minutes away as is an ice skating rink [seasonal]. Both Clyde and Alexandra boast up-market movie theatres. Alexandra has a wonderful museum. We have a great local hospital [which hopefully you won't need].
