Enjoy glamping high atop a 1700-foot-tall mountain with king bed, cast iron wood stove and panoramic views of the Catskills just 2.5 hours from NYC in our fabulous Sun Barn! A unique eco-friendly romantic get-a-way for couples. We're Airbnb super hosts for 14 years, over 1400 guests, and our glamp ground featured in Hudson Valley Magazine...twice! Note: bath tub is closed for the winter season. hot showers (from camping shower bag is still open). You fill bags in owner's main house. The space The Sun Barn is a 12x20 structure made from reclaimed and recycled materials. Dozens of windows make it feel like you're camping outside. You will sleep on s premium king-sized memory foam mattress. (fresh clean sheets, duvet and pillows provided.) This barn is one of 5 unique structures on our 4-acre farm. Every guest has their own parking spot, privacy and Weber propane grill. The Sun Barn sits approximately 60 feet below the host's main house (current unoccupied) and each glamp site is spaced more than 150 feet apart for optimal privacy. If you're here during a clear night, you will be dazzled by star gazing and wonder in awe at how clearly you can see the Milky Way from our field as we are blessed with nearly zero light pollution. There is brand new 2024 sparkling clean porta-potty serviced and disinfected weekly located 35 feet from the barn. Highlights: - 2.5 gallon water jug at the sink for washing up toothbrush 💦 - King sized mattress with full bedding 🛏 - Classic cast iron wood burning stove with FREE unlimited fire wood 🔥 - Free unlimited satellite Wi-fi internet (with basic speeds. not meant for streaming) 🛰 - Indoor eating table and 3 chairs table chair. - Outdoor Picnic table and 2 benches picnic tabletops. - Brand new sparkling clean 2024 port-a-potty style toilet 35 feet from your accomodation 🚹 - Propane Weber BBQ grill. (propane included) - Complimentary 3-gallon cooler, pre-filled with frozen ice. - Solar powered walkway lights and indoor lantern. NOTE: Bath tub is closed for the winter season. Hot glamping showers from the portable shower bag is still available. The Sun Barn is a very unique structure and has an interesting history. Was built piece by piece, with many reclaimed building materials over a 3-year period. It started out as a green house. Thus, it is rustic in nature, and some would say ruff around the edges. We are not responsible for the discomforts of nature (including but not limited to weather, bugs, etc.) FAQ 1. Is there electricity in the Barn? No, but we provide access to an extension cord 5 feet from the barn where you are welcome to use it for phone charging needs or to plug in the provided hot water electric kettle for making coffee/tea. 2. Is there hot water? We provide a 2.5 gallon jug of cold water for brushing teeth and washing hands. And for the eco-bath there we provide pre-boiled hot water in large 5-gallon barrels you pour into the tub to warm it up. 3. Do we have privacy? Yes, no one can see into your accommodation and other campsites are more than 150 feet from yours. 4. Do we need to bring our own drinking water? Yes, we simply provide 2.5 gallons of water for washing hands/brushing teeth. 5. Do we need to bring our own blankets, pillows? No, we provide all fresh bedding material and a fresh set of bath towels. However, it is recommended guests bring an extra blanket for extra comfort. 6. Is there a bathroom? Yes, there is a port-a-potty. 7. Is there Wi-fi? Yes, basic internet connection is available. 8. Are pets allowed? No, we have a strict no pet policy as the property hosts multiple guests at multiple glamp sites. 9. Are kids allowed? All persons must be 21 years or older. For children accompanied by an adult we ask they be 10 years or older. 10. Do you provide a BBQ grill? Yes, we offer a Weber propane grill. You don't need to bring charcoal or anything (the propane tank is included). 11. Do you provide plates, utensils, napkins, coffee mugs? Yes 12. Do you provide coffee and tea? Yes. 13. Is there heat? Yes, there is a cast iron wood burning stove. We provide you with plenty of free firewood. Guest access A large field (approx 1/2 acre). Private parking spot. Other things to note Note: Campfires are NOT ALLOWED to be made by guests at any time. At this elevation in the mountains the wind can get quite strong. This is why we provide a propane gas grill for your cooking needs. We do a lot of preparation to keep critters out because this structure is a barn in the middle of nature, do be prepared to meet insects (flying and crawling), with the occasional cameo appearance of a country mouse. Is there electricity in the Barn? No, but we provide access to an extension cord from our house in a nearby farm wagon. You are welcome to use it for phone charging needs or to use a hot water electric kettle. 2. Is there hot water? No, not exactly. The sink water tap available from a 2.5 gallon jug for brushing teeth and washing hands is just cold water. And for the eco-bath there is a metal barrel filled with fresh rain water. It is room temperature and is used to take a bath or shower in warmer months. However, you can use the electric water kettle, and we provide a few large coffee style urns with hot boiled water already made. 3. Do we have privacy? Yes, no one can see into your accommodation and other campsites are more than 150 feet from yours. 4. Do we need to bring our own drinking water? Yes, we simply provide 2.5 gallons of water for washing hands/brushing teeth. 5. Do we need to bring our own blankets, pillows? No, we provide all fresh bedding material and a fresh set of bath towels. However, it is recommended guests bring an extra blanket for extra comfort. 6. Is there a bathroom?
