Description
Elidir View, a quarry foreman's cottage dating from 1850, is situated in an elevated mountainside position above the village of Cwm Y Glo, with expansive views towards Elidir mountain and rolling countryside. It has country & mountain walks immediately out of the house to Llanberis and Snowdon, and is near to the bus that goes directly to the car park for the walk up Mount Snowdon.. An open plan living room and dining area has a large contemporary log burner to keep it warm in the winter. The space GROUND FLOOR The house has an open plan living and dining area with a small but fully featured modern kitchen. The house has solid pine flooring throughout with slate in the kitchen and bathroom. There is a wood burner to warm you up quickly after a day in the mountains, as well as electric radiators, and a 43" smart TV, WiFi and radio. There is space to store bikes and outdoor gear, by arrangement, in the house next door. UPSTAIRS Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms. The spacious main bedroom has a King size bed, a small built-in wardrobe and dressing table. It has superb views of the mountains and the rolling countryside towards Anglesey. The smaller back bedroom has one single bed. Bathroom - A medium sized bathroom with a curved bath and shower. OUTSIDE. The house has its own private parking and turning space to the front. Enough for 1 car, 2 if parked carefully. Elidir View is the middle house in a terrace of 3. You will have the area to the front of the house to yourselves. I am refurbishing the house next door, but it's nearly finished and will be quiet during your stay, usually only me there. The very narrow country lane winds up the hillside to 3 short rows of terraced houses, each row being a full house height above the next one. Guest access You will have the entire house with large front yard / private parking area. Other things to note The house is located on the side of a mountain. The last 100 metres of the road is very narrow in places. We've had a long wheel base transit van up there, and large SUVs, but it is till very tight and you need to be confident about reversing to a passing place if someone comes the other way. However, it's a dead end lane with only 7 houses so it doesn't happen too often. You might want to walk up the first time, or send someone ahead. You will get used to it.
