La Herradura has a great selection of bars and restaurants serving typical Spanish food, the restuarant number 20 is very good, Mardela, bar dintinto... There's also kite surfing, scuba diving, boating and fishing. You can find live music in the summertime and cafe's spill out onto the sidewalk with people enjoying the sunset over a beer or coffee. It's best to have a car in La Herradura on account that this is a small village and buses are scarce, taxis even scarcer. However, these are the things that make it a truly special town, free of tourist ridden locales - authentic and delightful. La Herradura is situated closely to many great places for day trips. It's an ideal spot to relax and love like a local, but also to venture out and see some of the most dazzling sites Spain has to offer- the Sierra Nevadas, Granada, and more. Great Day Trips also abound: Granada and the famous Alhambra are 45 minutes away, the 'White Villages' of the Sierra Nevada are 1.5 hrs away ...or you could just opt to sit by the beach and sip tinto de verano.
