Description
PLEASE NOTE:Minimum short stay 3 nights available The space Nestling in the crofting hamlet of Lower Breakish, which is approximately seven miles from the Skye Bridge, Tidal Cottage is a newly renovated traditional croft house sensitively restored to embrace 21st century comforts. Traditional slate flooring with underfloor heating and a wood burning stove ensure comfort and warmth all year round. There is sufficient wood supplied for an initial burn and more logs can be purchased locally. This perfect retreat for two has a tastefully furnished living room and a well-equipped dining kitchen which includes a washer, dishwasher and fridge freezer. The luxurious bathroom boasts a roll top bath, (mountain and sea views from the tub included!) large walk in shower and marbled top stand-alone wash basin: The perfect place to soak and relax with a glass of wine after a day on the hills. There is a spacious porch ready to receive your coats, boots and climbing gear. The cottage has direct access to the shore where there is an abundance of wildlife; otters, seals, oystercatchers and herons .If you visit in Spring you may catch sight of lambs crossing to Moorland pasture at low tide. Seaplanes operate from a small nearby airstrip offering trips over the island which affords the most spectacular scenery you will see anywhere. Sunsets afford panoramic views to Raasay, Scalpay and Applecross. Sunsets are truly memorable! Plockton village with its yachts and palm trees and the iconic Eilean Donan castle are a short drive away as is the Michelin starred Kinloch Lodge restaurant. Local shops and the supermarket are approximately 2 miles from the cottage. The popular Red Skye Restaurant is a short walk. All the local tourist information on sea trips to spot dolphins, sea eagles, whales etc. or details of local craft, pottery and art studios is available in the cottage. There are also books and maps on local walking and climbing trips. The cottage has private parking but due to its shore side location we regret that it is not suitable for disabled access. Robert and Janet would be delighted to welcome you to this special place on this beautiful island. Other things to note We regret that Tidal Cottage does not accept children .The layout of the cottage would not be a safe environment for children under two. Owing to the presence of sheep who frequently swim across the tidal inlet to “greener grass on the other side “ we cannot accept pets. Registration Details Hl-30077-F
