A wild kind of beauty imbues a natural sense of peace and homecoming. The pool floor is in blue and green hues of oxide, and has rocks and trees on its periphery. The showers are hidden among the banana trees. The pool and garden are what together make Laguna Anjuna an appropriate name. The use of an ozonator and the minimal use of algaecide and chlorine make for a very pleasant swimming experience. The rooms are with attached bathroom and very well designed . Location – neighborhood description you can enjoy the cacophony of birds, farm and other animals you’re relaxed with the sounds of singing from a distant temple or chapel you’d rather haggle with vendors of every race in colourful fleamarkets than shop in air conditioned malls you prefer rambling old Goan Portuguese houses and cottages to modern concrete blocks you’d rather ride motorcycles and small taxis on dusty back roads than take a coach tour you prefer a “copa” in local bars, “thalis” in beach shacks, small eating places and small happenings on beaches, coconut groves and cliffs to ” lounge bars”, “resto-bars” and ” sound proofed” night clubs and discotheques…… Meals Breakfast is Complimentary. Some of our own practices were established as a matter of course long before green became fashionable. Our own water comes from four wells in the property. Water harvesting during the rains by slopes and pits to replenish the water table. Waste kitchen and bath water is filtered, treated with EM and recycled for gardening. Solar heating for bulk of hot water needs, backed up by electrical geysers. CFL lamps (warm rather than white). Use of traditional eco friendly practices in building- coconut wood rafters, terracotta roof tiles, white wash rather than paints etc. Pest control methods are also herbal-use of chrysanthemum based pyrethrum, other sprays of neem, garlic, lemongrass etc, outdoor pot candles of citronella oil, Tulsi (Indian Basil). Treatment of kitchen waste by EM use, vermiculture and composting in collaboration with Green Goa works. By choice we use a minimum of products of non bio degradable materials- and even these are sent to a unit for recycling. House keeping practices again prefer products like EM and mild soaps rather than harsh detergents. We have recently purchased and are fitting an ozonator for the pool, which will make the use of chlorine minimal.
