Picket Post House was an 18th Century Canal Warehouse which has been lovingly restoured keeping many of the original features. Idillic setting directly overlooking the Liverpool/Lancaster Canal open fields and flowing stream. Located in the small hamlet of Claughton-on-Brock. on the edge of the Trough of Bowland, Yorkshire Dales, South Lake District, Coastal towns of Lytham St Annes, Blackpool & Morcambe. Just between Junction 32 & 33 of the M6 The space We have 2 rooms available for Bed & Breakfast, both have views of either the Canal or our pretty flowing stream. Beamed ceilings and cosy informal atmosphere where you can relax by our open fires or enjoy our lovely sunny garden on finer days. Country location Guest access Easy by car located between Junction 32 & 33 of the M6 motorway - we have Free off-street parking Local bus service at the end of the lane (10 mins walk) No 42 between Preston-Garstang & Lancaster or the 40 & 41 which runs betwen Preston-Lancaster & Morecambe. Local taxi firms - please enquire. Bike routes, marked walks, maps available on-site to borrow During your stay Julie is on site most of the time to give advise on where to visit, walk, cycle, eat and shop nearby. Additional information & leaflets available. Other things to note A continental breakfast is included with the room charge. Available on request is our delicious Cooked English Breakfast for a small extra charge of £10 per person (payable in cash please). If you have any special dietary needs please let us know in advance of your arrival, so we can provide the necessary food. Please note that both rooms are lockable contrary to previous comments by guests, this issue was rectified when we fully re-furbished in January 2024
