Set up on the hillside in the historical village of Litlington, overlooking the Cuckmere Valley this accommodation offers a quiet, cosy retreat with access to wonderful amenities on your doorstep. The Seven Sisters just 4 miles away, an hours walk winding along the banks of the Cuckmere River, mountain biking in the forest, a vast amount of pubs and idyllic walks. The space Tucked away upon a South East facing part of the Cuckmere Valley above the idyllic village of Litlington. 5 minites walk from the south downs way, a self contained cabin with separate shower room, loft bedroom with king size bed and kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, kettle, electric hob but no oven. The kitchen is airy and has a unique close up view of a variety of birds and squirrels. It has a door to stop cooking fumes entering the main space which is rare for a self contained cabin. There is a gravel/ steep track leading up to the house which isn’t suitable for very low cars. We welcome guests with dogs as long as they are not left alone for hours. Dog bowls and towels provided. Great wifi (20mbs) suitable for zoom meetings. TV with Netflix. Steep steps lead up to the the bedroom so this accommodation is not suitable for people with mobility difficulties. ☆Breakfast Provided☆ Musili, cornflakes, bread, milk, butter (dairy free alternatives on request) a variety of jams, fruit, Lavazza ground coffee, Nescafe original and Americano instant. Yorkshire, decafe, camomile, mint and green teas. Guest access Garden/ space for dogs to run riot. Other things to note Access onto the downs leading to numerous outstanding walks - into the forest up Lullington heath to the Long Man of Wilmington or across to Jevington a neighbouring village. The opposite way leads back into Litlington village where one can try the locally brewed Long Man ale in their sampling room, visit cadence cafe/ cycle hub, the ice cream shop or the grumpy cow artist. Right on our doorstep you can devour a cream tea and a scone in the 19th century Victorian tea gardens. A short distance from the pub is the idyllic river Cuckmere offering 3 more walks - North lies Alfriston with the 14th century Clergy House.. Head West up the old cow lane and you will find yourself by the entrance of Rathfinny estate, the South Downs newest addition to wine production. The more adventurous may choose to wind along the river bank south to the white horse, High and Over and Cuckmere Haven. The Seven Sisters can be seen from here. Friston forest is a 20 minute walk up the hill or 10 minutes by mountain bike. The forest offers trails for a variety of skill levels.
