The flat, which was partly refurbished in Spring 2022, is in the lower part of Piani d'Invrea and has unimpeded view of the sea. You can see Genoa from the terrace, and if you are lucky Corsica. The space The flat is just outside the seaside resort of Varazze on the Riviera di Ponente in Liguria, Italy's smallest region. You are just 40 minutes drive from the great port city of Genoa. This is the Italian Riviera and offers the best of Italy: a beautiful coastline and stunning mountains. You will be right next to the sea and the apartment is perched above the seafront path the Lungomare Europa that runs between Varazze and Cogoleto. There are tiny coves if you fancy a dip in the sea (the saltiest in the Mediterranean) and this is a great place for walking, cycling and jogging. Varazze is a typical Ligurian town huddled next to the coast road. It was once the home of Jacopo da Varagine (1228-1298), who was an important religious scholar and archbishop of Genoa and as a result Varazze has a number of historic churches. The old town lies on either side of the River Teiro that divides the town neatly in two. It is full of old wordly charm and the narrow pedestrianised alleyways are bordered by tall houses painted in red and ochre with pretty trompe l’oeil decorations, which is typically Ligurian. It’s a charming place to shop and stop for a drink and is full of masses of small shops, owned by families for generations, selling everything from dishwaters to buttons. Guest access Everything you would expect in a fully furnished holiday flat including wi fi. There is a TV for a DVD and plenty of DVDs to watch, but reception for Italian television is bad. You can watch TV via your laptop or other device. Other things to note Two important points: To walk to the sea from the flat there is a path and steps below the flat. At the bottom they are quite steep and not suitable for those who are disabled or those who could find them hard. The Commune of Varazze imposes a tourist tax between April 1 and October 31.
