The "Apriscos" estate is located on the left bank of the Tines River, in the village of Areal, 1 kilometer from Serra de Outes. The river flows two kilometers downstream into the Tambre Marshes forming "A Ensenada do Enganho" inside the Muros-Noia Estuary, a protected area of the Natura 2000 Network. The surroundings of "Apriscos" are characterized by old irrigation canals built in the 19th and 20th centuries for the production of pastures among the typical native wetland grove, thus forming a space of great ecological value for the refuge and breeding of the abundant and varied local, maritime, river and land fauna. Our farm preserves the passage of the canals, an area of pastures, another of orchard with old fruit trees and, in the center, a pond surrounded by deciduous forest where the little cabins are hidden as a natural refuge, elevated in the centuries-old trees.
